Try to understand this.
The NYS Thruway/Canal Authority is a NYS state agency. The officials are nominated by the governor and confirmed by the NYS Senate. It is a public authority as opposed to being a traditional state agency but it is a state agency nonetheless.

The is from the NYS Comptroller's webpage explaining public authorities of which the New York State Thruway/Canal Authority is one:
"Information on NY's Public Authorities
Public authorities are corporate instruments of the State created by the Legislature to further public interests. These entities develop, operate and maintain some of New York 's most critical infrastructure including roads, bridges and schools. As a result, public authorities play a significant role in the debt structure of New York State. Currently, over 94 percent of all State-funded debt outstanding was issued by public authorities without voter approval."

http://www.osc.state.ny.us/pubauth/whatisauth...

It is a public authority not a private corporation. There is a difference and all of your name calling and nonsensical posts aren't going to change that.

I do hope all the self proclaimed edumucated tards like you do leave NY. You make the rest of us that received real educations (that would be a Masters degree in science and technology), love our home, stayed here and have great jobs look bad.
Go away. I will personally mail you the toll to travel the entire length of the thruway if you shut up and go away. Take the deal man you are making yourself look like an idiot.
I can afford the toll, I'm a multi-millionaire.

But as someone who grew up in central NY, it pains me to see the deterioration of the area. And the high taxation and ridiculous tolls/fees in NYS are a big part of the problem. Most of the people who could leave left long ago. Those still in the area are largely those who had nowhere else to go, the elderly, or third world refugees.

It's tragic, because it didn't need to happen. There is no reason why states like Texas (where I now live) should boom while upstate NY withers and dies, but that is exactly what is happening. The absurd NY Thruway fees are just a small part of a much larger problem.

"(that would be a Masters degree in science and technology),"

Very impressive. I only have a BS in engineering from RPI, an MBA from Boston University, and a MEng from MIT, which clearly don't compare to a "Masters in Science in Technology" from (I'm guessing) SUNY Tech.

To be fair, though, SUNY Tech didn't exist when I went to school, so I was forced to go to lesser schools like MIT, RPI, and BU. Or maybe it did exist, and I just ignored it. Whatever.

It doesn't matter if this person is telling the truth about his/her wealth or level of education. The problems that New York has are very real. The real problem with all of New York is people who refuse to see the truth or just don't know any better. I don't know what category you fall in but it is one or the other.

The producers are leaving New York. The people who used to make the economy go are moving to places like Texas and Florida where they can keep more of what they earn rather than turning it over to a state government with an obvious social and political agenda. Get your head out of the sand and look around.

Yes but unlike New York some of those agendas make some of those states successful. In your post to the man/woman from Texas you tell them pretty much to shut up and stay there. The problem with that is people like that are the producers. New York can't survive without the producers. When the producers leave for places like Texas, they take the money they would have paid in taxes with them. I guess you seem to think that's okay.

Valuable lessons in economic success can be learned from states like Texas and Florida.

You are saying then that there is no inequality, racism and bigotry in New York? That's just crazy as well as dead wrong.

Your a couple of know it all douche bags with seemingly all of the answers except for the fact, that you are admittedly part of the "problem". If you live in Texas stay in Texas keep your a hole opinions there as well. Good riddance. Or you can contribute to New York in a positive and productive way witch you certainly are not right now. So put up or shut up. You are being arrogant inflammatory and counter productive. But i am sure you both will have some a hole response to this as well that is nothing more than you flattering your own self centered ego's.

You represent most everything that is wrong with New York. Your type of thinking has put New York in the position of being the least business friendly state in the U.S. and will further lead it over the cliff.

The misspelling, bad grammar and name calling I think should tell anyone reading this thread all they need to know about your IQ and the validity of your opinion.
