you would be blind to think italian maifa has much influence in utica anymore. the russians moved in and are running it. the italians basically all stoped and are laying low. the russian mob is decently apparent

in that time period the mob was the only game in town. it was destiny for them to be run out of towm. howver poorly organized they may have been their mentality gave birth to other organized crime groups who used their organizational skills and emulated them. so was teh mafia useful. Yeah! They enabled other groups, gangs, and organizations to come into cities and spread crime. whatever crime is., wherever you live blame the mafia for giving it a kick start.

That's the dumbest thing I've ever read about the Mafia. I was laughing as I read it. Please let us know if you have any social research to back it up or did you come up with this brain storm all by yourself. It's pretty good if you were trying to be funny.

They'll never understand unless they're actually in it. I wouldn't have believed it had I not been with a Bosnian for so long; they have eyes everywhere and it's a pretty spectacular sight when anyone crosses them.

Nana, we must have been walking the same streets. I lived there when Joe Falcone was a big name in the Mafia in the '60s. I was familiar with him because he frequented a restaurant where I worked. Anyone who thinks he was a small time, wannabe thug doesn't know anything about the Mafia. Not to say the Mafia was a good thing but the streets were alot safer than they are now.
