If the Italians did a better job holding on to their culture and heritage, the mob never could have been broken. If the younger guys learned their native language they could discuss business freely and undetected. If they took pride in being a stand up guy who never rats, bosses never would have gotten pinched. The shit runs downhill not up. You want less shit, do what you're supposed to do, get respect and move up.
The old school values are gone today, once the few guys leftover from the old days die off, the next generation will destroy all that's left cause they're too spoiled and impulsive. Its sad..

Sure, sure... rats should kill each other off, right? if you believe all your hype, then ANYone that turned state's or welshed on "the code" should die like a dog, which would pretty much put ALL you lying, murdering, parasitical criminal types on notice, correct? I mean, you're constantly selling each other out along the way with your little schemes & cons & rackets, right? No honor amongst thieves, so you should all just screw each other into your early graves, eh? See the Ultimate Logic @ work there, pally?

Its too bad Utica doesn't have someone like John Gotti still around here. East Utica and most of the city would be cleaned up so fast your head would spin. They don't make em like they used to, that's for sure..

And he surrounded himself with lying scum like himself... so just keep believing your little fairy tales~!

Peter (Bud) Zuccaro once thought the Gambino boss was the “best thing that walked the planet”— but he didn’t mourn when Gotti died in prison in 2002.
“There was no love lost for me,” Zuccaro testified in Brooklyn Federal Court.
Then — with Gotti unable to retaliate from his resting place in a Queens cemetery — Zuccaro boldly declared the Mafia kingpin had brought unwanted attention to the underworld.
“He publicized everything that was going on,” he said of Gotti, who seemed to love the camera as much as it loved him in his heyday.
“He brought everything that was supposed to be a secret society right out to the forefront, right into the press,” Zuccaro continued.
“He let it be a known thing, you know, flash, everybody hanging out together,” he told Assistant Brooklyn U.S. Attorney Jacquelyn Kasulis.
“Guys reporting to the (Ravenite) club while the FBI is surveilling you. Wednesday night everybody had to report to see the boss.”
Zuccaro, 56, was sprung from prison earlier this month to testify at the murder trial of reputed Gambino associate John Burke.
He’s been settling old scores since becoming a government snitch to work off a guilty plea to two gangland murders, and he seems to relish taking shots at the Gottis

Mafia gang for cowards

ALL these "mafia" scumbags were failures who had to live in a gang to survive. Lots of other ways to clear the 1st mil by 35 but not for some. They need to run in thief packs. It's laughable what these people gravitate to and what "impresses" oooticans.

Now they call them politicians and cops. Gangs, that's all.

You believe what you want bo, but you're going off the words of an fn rat right now. Gotti did have too much flash, and yes, his style did a lot of damage. Realistically he never should have risen past capo because he didn't have the low key demeanor needed to be boss. However..
He went to his grave never ratting on anyone, and was as tough as anyone that ever walked the street. He didn't tolerate bullshit in his neighborhoods, and he took care of and loved the Italian people. That's why he was so revered and is to this day.
Take away the flash and media bullshit, and he would have been as good of a Don as you could find.

He was a loser that died in prison.

Your delusional mental state keeps you locked into dealing with Reality through a veil created by your Falsely-Inflated Sense of a "Glorious" (in its most twisted sense) Past. It's Hubris, with a capital "H", & indicative of @ least a slight form of mental illness, to boot.

Been checked for Alzheimer's?
