Yes it is only it has evolved. Mike Arcuri and his huge collection of inneffective followers are what is left of the Mafia. They "went legit" except forgot the 'legit' part.

These are the people who's ancestors were in the mop, and having no education or intelligence had to circle their wagons and began to weasel their way into our lives as 'leaders'. What? Uncle Dom can't read or deal with people? Let's amke him a DPW foreman. He can get paid and be lazy there.

What? Unle Frank is a criminal that got kicked off UPD? Well, we'll cover his crimes and not prosecute and set him up at Kids Oneida.

ALL of these NFPs and City offices and positions became the catch all for the flunkies in the "familia" that can't actually support themselves with marketable skills, so they give them these patronage jobs and hope they won't make trouble. The only problem is, theyare so careless, arogant and just plain stupid that the cancer they became killed off all that is good in this city, now there they are, the curtain has been pulled back, and we can see the little roaches working the controls like the wizard of Oz.

The Labellas are Utica's present mafia. That makes the real mafiosa laugh their asses off. Can you imagine, Nick Labella Sr., his numbskull son Danny, and his fa&&ot son Nicky as mad men. LOL and LOL again.

Please, these guys make Vinny "the chin" look sane.

And this is not a joke. You really think these bozos would last? There would be a carpet party in an empty Bronx lot.

Thats if there really was a mafia. Grandma always said it was not true. ;)

I grew up in Uterus, ooops,,Utica. I worked for a guy named Vinny. He ran a shoe store downtown. He was a great guy, he cared more about others then himself. His beautiful wife J. S. was a great cook and just as caring. I saw and did alot when I was a kid. I know there was a Mafia then, these days I would say they just keep a low profile. There are other gangs out there that we need to worry about

Mike Arcuri is not Sicilian. Not Mafia. You're looking in the wrong places. You don't know anything about the Mafia and it shows. The Mafia as it existed in Utica in the 40s, 50s, 60s, etc. killed their own. Streets were safe. Now you have wanna be's who think they are Mafia and they rip off our people with low paying jobs, no recorded sales (all cash), and NO ONE wants to touch this one.

The mafia in Utica today are not the ignorant street thugs of the past. Today they sit in high places with black robes and hold political offices. That way they can be viewed as being legit. The mafia today steal from you under the guise of public service...like Roann Destito and her fat azz husband who use her inside connections and political position to make sweeet heart deals with the indians.

I posted the same thing and got ripped apart!!!!!! I agree with you - back in those days, Utica had a population of over 100,000, a cop directing traffic on Monday nights at Busy Corner because of the heavy shopping traffic, you could walk the streets in ALL parts of Utica at night, and unless you ripped off a member of the Mafia - the average person had nothing to worry about from them. I'll bet if those guys were still in Utica and were 30 years younger, ALL the "hoods" and dealers would be gone!!!!!!

Keep pipe dreaming, there was never a mob in Utica. Just a bunch of nickel & dime hoods who thought they were the mob. Oh wow! a population of over 100K LOL. You consider that a city? What a hick.

You have direct contact, Neo aka Susan, with Mafia connections and live off it. Now check out local importers who arrived from Sicily to NY, checked out upstate and found us lucrative.
They like to think they are Mafia but actually have to pay the piper. IRS needs to investigate and maybe JD should turn her attention to the obvious under her nose. Such a hypocrite.

I've seen the question raised many times. How come this big mouth JD (Sue) doesn't answer the question? How can she live on Pond Lane in Utica having rent paid by Section 8, collect a ton of benefits, never worked in her life, but points a finger at everyone else.

Answer the question. What are your connections or family connections that profit you and allow you to live as you do?
