I actually used to go there and I did like somethings about it, however there is alot that I didn't like.. I felt uncomfortable because no one really welcomed my family.. I actually never felt like it was a church family and I wanted that in a church. I actually seen Pastor Mike Jr at walmart a few weeks ago and he never even said hello and I know he seen us because him and his wife looked right at us that alone speaks.. I want a church that the Pastors know who you are and speak to you... I stopped going because of that reason and I am also looking for another church to attend at this time...
probably because you didnt give them enough money,,

A priest like LaFache should not be at the casino weekly and then preach as LaFache does about the horrors of gambling. His paycheck is from parishioners not private sector. He should not spend the churches money.it is not his and he provides a poor example to those who give to that church.
Excuse me, it is his money...he earns it...he is not spending the churches money, it is his own. Thats like your boss telling you you can't spend your paycheck on whatever it is you want. If you went to church every week you would know that he never preaches the horrors of gambling. Shame on you for trying to destroy this mans reputation.

Read in the new testament, how when Christ was dying on the cross, what the roman soldiers were doing with his belongings.

right on, jodi, you are right....it IS NOT stated anywhere that gambling is a sin.
Father La Fache has devoted his life to God and the church. What he does in his leisure time to relax is ABSOLUTELY no ones business. Christ died on the cross for our sins, so if one believes that it really and truly is a sin to gamble, then 'so be it' In one way or another, we are ALL sinners and a 'little' sin doesn't make one a 'bad' person.remember, sins may be forgiven.. and he who is without sin cast the first stone, and then let us all know who you are....it should be interesting.

Jody is missing the point.Priests never gasmbled and they should not.LaFache should help some poor family with food ibstead of the indians. This is a vice not a priviledge for a priest.

jody isn't missing the point....hail mary is... it is father La Faches money to do with it as he wishes...it is his leisure time to enjoy as he wishes..he works hard and is entitled to it, he would be there in a heartbeat if YOU needed him..Stop casting stones.

He was dying on the cross and they were casting lots (gambling) over his belonging,, I cant remember which other verses preachers use, Im no bible scholar thats for sure, but I remember once while in church the preacher cited some particular verses that he used to say gambling was sinful, maybe somebody else with more knowledge out there could elaborate on this,, this particular church also spoke about the sinfulness of dancing,, I dont really know myself, I play the lottery and bet on the horses once in awhile, I dont feel like Im sinning, of course some of the churches teach that just about everything you do is sin,, sometimes they go a little overboard in my opinion,so let someone with more knowledge comment on this, I would be interested in hearing some more comments

Father LaFache helps so many families. You obviously do not know the man and should really stop pointing a finger at him. I cannot tell you the amount of people he helps out in our parish especially. He has a very giving heart.

well dont forget that the catholic church writes its own rules as it goes along, when I went to catholic school it was a horrible sin to eat meat on any friday, if you did you were doomed to hell with no escape, then they said it was ok to eat meat on friday except during lent,, once when I was a kid in catholic school it was a friday and the kids all had to eat fish sticks in the cafeteria, and the priest was eating beef, he made a joke about it and made the sign of the cross over the beef and said it was ok now!!! so basically they make the rules up as they go along,, back in the middle ages people were illiterate and didnt know any better, they would follow all of the catholic rules because they thought they would go to hell if they didnt, its how the church gained control over the people, when people became more learned and literate and starting reading books especially the bible they protested, thats when the reformation began, the word protes-tant was born because of the protests,, actually a person cant follow the bible and be a catholic at the same time, both are opposed to one another.
