I agree. Depends on pricing and customer service too though. Jay-K survives even though they have both a Lowe's and a Home Depot in close proximity.I don't think Bass Pro will have too much of an impact on either Herbs or Gander Mountain..I think a lot of Bass's business will be people on their way up to Old Forge and the Adirondacks.
Not sure people in New Hartford, Clinton or Whitesboro will drive to North Utica if they can find similar or the same merchandise at Herbs and Gander..of course, they'll come up to Bass out of curiosity after it opens, and to look for stuff the other two don't carry, but I don't think Herbs and Gander will be driven out of business by Bass
Speaking only for myself and from my experience, I think Gander Mountain has a lot more to fear than Herb's if Bass Pro has quality employees and comparable prices. Time will tell.
