Stock up on food, drinks, firewood and pot and throw on some good tunes. That's what snowstorms are good for.

Actually, you are the stupid one. Its smart to stock up before a major storm. Its not about starving .. its about having whatever you may need and not worrying about it.

they could just be doing their regular monthly shopping, I only buy groceries once a month to save on gas. It helps to have lots of storage and 2 freezers to be able to shop this way. I have no idea if thats what these ppl are doing but it could be.

What a bunch of idiots. We're looking anywhere from a dusting to 1 inch by daybreak. The heavy snow will come later late Fridy afternoon thru the night. We won't get the 1 foot of snow the weatherman is predicting. More like 6 inches or less.

Email from National Grid:

February blizzard update

With a severe winter storm on the way that some weather forecasters already are calling a storm of historic proportions, National Grid has started preparing for widespread, prolonged power outages that could result from the predicted blizzard-like conditions. Although the path of the storm is still being monitored, we are taking steps to ensure we are prepared for this storm and we want to make sure that you are too.

Be prepared by creating an emergency kit:

•Water. The American Red Cross recommends one gallon of water per person per day
•Food, at least a three-day supply of non-perishable food
•Can opener for food (if kit contains canned food)
•Battery-powered or hand - crank radio
•Flashlight and extra batteries
•First aid kit
•Moist towelettes, garbage bags and plastic ties for personal sanitation
•Wrench or pliers to turn off utilities
•Local maps
•Cell phone with chargers
