What ever happened to the welfare to work legislation that was purposed by Zecca and Vescera. By the way, thanks for starting it up.

I asked mayor about this six months ago. Was referred to John Orillio in corporation councils office. He gave me some BS story about talking with other lawyers. Also said "mayor was bugging him every day about it". Yeah right. And I have a floating casino to sell you. We have a good welfare to work program in Oneida County. MHA uses it, Solid waste uses it, the Stanley uses it. Any able body getting welfare must work 20 hours a week. Mon - Fri 8 - 12. Teaches them to get up and go to work every day. Why is the city not using this program? I have researched this, the program is in place and ready to go. The city was involved. The program has been in place for us since Mayor Hanna. Only when taxpayers start asking mayor why he wont use this program will he do something.

Whatever happened to OCJ using inmates to mow all the overgrown grass in Utica? I use to see them doing this but have not noticed any this Summer.

Are they also using this Back to Work Program? If not, they should.

Why isn't Social Services DEMANDING that ALL Welfare receipants MUST work for their "entitlements"? I'm willing to be that if this was put in place and enforced, many of these Welfare receipants would realize they would be better OFF from Welfare and earning their own paychecks.
