Funny when I bought a pair for myself and found this out I looked inside the shoe and noticed made in China in there..I was n ot happy.

Below was written by someone else who advised...

Dansko is no longer Dansko. For all of us Dansko lovers be advised that Dansko is no longer being made by the same people. As of 2008, Danskos are being produced in China. It was a part of a split between Sanita (the makers of Dansko shoes) and Dansko. Dansko lost the patent to make the Sanita Clog shoe.
Anyway I bought a pair of Dansko and Sanita's, same style and size, and put them on. I wanted to see if there was any difference. According to Dansko they've improved the shoe. The difference was very noticeable. I sent the Dansko's back and kept the Sanitas. If you have a square around the Dansko logo and a patent number on the sole, then you have the original Dansko. If there is no square on the bottom and no patent number, then you have the Chinese knock-off. It's the truth, just google the two names on the internet and you'll see for yourself. If you want the Dansko of yesterday you have to buy the Sanita. FYI

They fit different too. Used to wear a 38, now 39. The salesperson said they were made by a different company a few years back.

Nothing is made in the USA anymore. Even the cars we all drive aren't made in USA.

Sanitas are made in Poland by hand. Why would you buy an European shoe made in China? The clogs like that are meant to be made in Europe. Would u like Italian leather made in USA? Funny thing is that the danskos are still like 150 bucks or more.

Well, when you work long hours on your feet quality shoes make a huge difference....fugly or not. I love them and I guarantee you wouldn't kick me out of your way for wearing Danskos.

Better yet, who in the right mind would pay $150 for a pair European shoes? That's insane.

Comfort is "hot" when you are on your feet working in a hospital for hours. Not saying Danskos should be worn out to a club, restaurant or on a date idiot. And women get cheated on if they are stupid enough to become involved with a twit like you.

just sayin..
I have foot problems - a fused toe - can't wear the F shoes anymore. In fact wearing them made my foot problems worse. I can assure you I am very sexy and make up for it by wearing nice clothes and VS underwear. DOn't be so quick to judge a woman by the shoes she is wearing.

Actually your half right slapnuts. parts are made elsewhere but the assembly is done, for most cars even kia and hyundai, in the us. I drive past the assembly plants regularly and even if the parts are made elsewhere its nice to see that kia and hyundai have brought some jobs to this country other than on the sales floor. Even if its not in our local area. True they probably dont pay a whole lot and probably use mexicans to assemble the vehicles but if americans didnt think they "deserved" to be overpaid and unionized to turn a nut then Im sure we wouldnt have had to have our government bail out the big auto manufacturers. I doubt we'll ever see mexicans in a picket line whining about working for a living and needing more money to turn that nut.

Oh...and actually back on the topic of shoes. I bought a pair of ecco sneakers. Im not sure where they're made exactly but they are the most comfortable pair of shoes I have ever owned. They've been well worth the $180 I paid for them and would drop another $180 in a heartbeat for another pair. I do believe they are euopean made and if you buy them they do run about a size small . I dont know if anyone is actually interested but thought Id share anyway. These shoes are great if you spend alot of time on your feet.

Made in Thailand.Ive had these for over a year and a half and theyre still as comfortable as the day I bought them. Theyre extremely lightweight and they feel like your floating instead of walking...its the only way I can describe them. I bought these in Phoenix Az but I think they may have them in new hartford shopping center and of course theres always online if you're thinking of trying them.

The salesgirl in phoenix told me they do run about a size small so if you do decide to try them remember to order a size up. Before I bought these I had gotten a pair of new balance which I have had before but never again. I dont know what was wrong with this particular pair of nb but I couldnt walk in them or even wear them when I was just driving. my feet, legs, hips, back and even my neck hurt so bad in those shoes. i tried them out for walking and barely got back from that excursion so I figured they needed a little more break in so I only wore them a few hrs a day fir a couple weeks. the more I wore them the worse they got. My feet and legs would be hurting so bad just from wearing them for an hrs drive. I got the eccos and havent had any pain since.

another overseas made shoe..Thailand??? Same as made in China..
Sanitas who used to make for Danskos are the only ones still being original in made in Poland and all hand made.

If I am going to buy an overseas shoe made in mass production then I can get same comfort for over half the price.

Its like buying leather in Italy and having it say made in China.

I didnt say you had to buy them. Honestly as much pain as I was in with the other shoes I had I could give a rats ass if they were made on mars. I can walk again without having pain from my neck to my toes. At that moment...I wasnt really concerned about where they came from, just that I wasnt in agony any longer. I do apologize, however, that I have found comfort in an overseas product.

Haha yeah Ill be right there. Let me get myself some nursing shoes...which I did have a pair of at one point before I gave up nursing because I didnt actually get into it so I could sit in front of a computer all day or spend the day doing paperwork.(what the hell happened to patient care?...off topic again I know...) They were not comfortable for me. I have high arches and they hurt my feet. Maybe Im too picky and am not willing to put up with any pain just because other people dont have the same issues. So....Ill be waiting for someone to tell me how wrong I am cuz I prefer to be pain free. Go ahead. the floor is yours.
