You gotta expect smaller crowds on a weekday, especially a week before Christmas. The weekend crowds will hopefully make up for it. Give it some time and ee'll see good crowds.

Excuses excuses excuses, just like when Devils were here. Same lame excuses, Sunday no good, weekdays no good, holiday time no good, weather no good, parking no good and on and on with these same excuses. It's the area folks and Utica in general. Utica is broke and in poverty, end of story.

people need to get off their lazy azzes and show up for games.season ticket holders need to give their tickets away if they dont wanna go. i dont know any 10-15 year old kid that wouldnt waana go for free. ive got 3 seats and in 14 games only one ticket wasnt used, and that was the night of the snow storm.

Utica area residents are certainly not broke. They spend their money where they wish. The restaurants' parking lots are full. Go look at Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Zebb's are all doing a great business. Pro hockey is just not the draw it used to be here. UC hockey is where the excitement happens.

People don't 'need to get off their lazy azzes', as you so eloquently write it. People are out there spending money where they like. Restaurants are busy. Pro hockey is just not popular in this area any longer. It ain't the 1950's anymore, grandpa.

hate to tell you this but any event that gives away half their tickets and sells the rest for five bucks is gonna be busy.... dont know about the excitement part, its division III hockey, and they have a lot of no shows too.......comets are way more exciting to watch than uc. the 1500 or so that showed up last night make more noise than a full house at a uc game.

I think the wheel fell off the bandwagon.
I saw the game highlights on WKTV and it look like a lot of empty seats.
Whoever said all the excuses for poor attendance are the same as when the Devils were here is right on.

People are busy doing what they wish. Obviously, Comet hockey is not high on their list:)

At the risk of offending some people on here, I'm going to give my opinion. People in the Utica area are just cheap! Plain and simple. Quality doesn't matter, value doesn't matter...all that matters is CHEAP. Utica is sooo fortunate to have another AHL team come here,. This is quality, professional hockey. The Devils played quality professional hockey and look what happened to them...2,000 on a good night. I hope the Comets make it in Utica. I'm hoping that the influx of new blood into the area from the Quad C and Nano Tech centers make a difference in this area. Remember the Utica Blue Sox?? Quality baseball...gone. I attended a NY collegiate baseball game this summer...they charged $5.00 PER CARLOAD. People were complaining about the price! Come on people! I don't think it's the economy, many of the cheapest people have plenty of money. Is it in the water??? Negativity and cheapness seem to rule in central NY. I have no idea why but it is what it is. Good luck Comets. I'll be at the game Friday night!

Utica Comets are playing Abbotsford Heat again Friday night. Another home win might bring us out of last place. The Comets have been working their butts off for those string of wins, let's all support them and try to show up at the games. They're definitely out of their slump !

Wake up, people. CHEAP? Really? It is not cheap to eat at Olive Garden, Sumo, Red Lobster, Zebb's, etc. People are out spending their money in the way they like. Can't you understand; Comet hockey is not a priority. Those who purchased season tickets even find other things they would rather do. Get over it.
