After this season it's going to cost the Canucks about 4 million to get into abbottsford. That money will more than be made up by huge increases in attendance for their home team and the simple fact the Canucks will require minor league ticket packages be purchased for all NHL season ticket packages. This is the only year the Canucks will be in chootica.
So you are saying that $4 million will cover both a buyout of the Flames contract with Abbotsford that, based on past performance, is potentially worth $7.5 million over the next 5 years and also what ever it will cost Vancouver to get out of their 6-year deal with Utica?

That makes no sense.

i cant see any pro team spending 4 million plus dollars to move their minor league franchise. thats just throwing money down the drain........ i would guess they will wait till the utica contract expires.

<quoted text>basically the same reason a couple would downsize or trim costs as the get older and the family moves out. If they don't need all the extra bedrooms they would move to a smaller ranch. That translated to the ahl is basically teams do not want to pay huge rent costs for a big arena and only fill 1/5 of the place. Perfect example is Albany. They average 2400 in a 15000 person arena. They are most likely losing money. The rent for the aud is 1/5 as much as Albany and theor averaging 3250 for the comets
How much is the rent for the comets?

How much is the rent for the devils in albany?

considering the fact that esches group now has control of the aud and its daily operations, i would say its either bargain basement rent or nothing at all. albany is a major city and a 15,000 seat building, you figure it out......

If he's such a "great" then why is Aqua Vino and the Utica Comets subsidized by taxpayers?
Oh wait... that's "successful welfare" to a Utican!
so what if tax payer money is used for somthing people enjoy. Thats the point retard. Go complain about the million dollar solar panels on house roofs your paying for in johnson park for a crack whore to live in or the 200 hope 6 houses sold to a guy half price just for being black. Not to mention if the state wants to pay then let them. Its like everyone on your street chipping in to remodel your house and you get mad. The bottom line is the liberal america is crumbling. We minds well enjoy the comets because thats gonna be the least of tax payers ploblems when the welfare scum becomes the majority which isnt far

actually it would help the comets if vancouver leaves. the flames already want in, and their ahl team is in first place, the devils averaging 2500 fans in albany and they are in second place. comets are in last place and drawing 3300. place will be sold out every game for a winning team!!!!!!!!!! than they can really put some money into the aud!!!!!!!

You do understand teams in the ahl are extremely fluid correct? Just because a team is winning this season doesn't mean they are building a winner. The parent team couldn't care less. You do remember the same devils franchise that left utica won the Calder cup the following season in Albany right? Turnover on an ahl roster averages about 75% from season to season. Enjoy your Canucks affiation this year and I hope the comets have success at finding another parent team for next season. They will need it.

The canucks arent moving their ahl team anywhere. Why would they want to fly and pay 30 grand to every game. They are making 10 times the money or at least losing 10 times less money then the wasnt heat are. Actually im not sure abbotsford will even be able to get a team if their city does not pay for it. The aud has been packed the last 4 games even during the new years day game

There are a lot of people held up during play
by the ushers, the longer the play the more people are held up in the corridors. They can only get back to their seats when the ref blows the whistle to stop the play. This an AHL rule. So this is part of the reason all the seats aren't filled at any given moment.

actually it was the second year they were in albany......utica with its location and attendance and local ownership will not have any problems getting another parent team if vancouver leaves. its not a big deal, they gonna get a ton of money from the canucks, and flames want in. albany and glenns falls not drawing jack either.....you really gotta get a life.......

Yeah that's the rule for most sporting events. Sorry. Keep trying your spins. Pictures and video do not lie. Sorry, three quarters of the arena isn't held up in the corridors. The outside world is not ignorant like the typical utican.

Well why don't you come to the next home game when they play Albany on Jan.17. A lot of Utica Topix users would love to meet you or should I say" beat you !"
