Typical troll response which is never backed up with facts. If you are so sure of yourself provide a link with all of the buy out details. How hard can that be?
Since using a search engine ranks in difficulty level for the typical utican somewhere between playing with themselves and changing the television remote control batteries here you go.

Well I have to admit you did come up with a link to the contract between the Abbotsford Heat and the Calgary Flames. However in doing so you prove yourself wrong when you said that.....

"Buyout is a set price at the end of season five. I don't need to do research for you. Try google."

Here is what the contract ACTUALLY states.....

"2.3 Despite the Term, the parties will review the financial terms of this Agreement at the end of the fifth Hockey Operating Year, but unless mutually agreed to by both parties, no party shall be compelled to amend this Agreement."

The only thing that was agreed to in this contract is that they would review the financial terms after five years. If the Flames want to hold the city of Abbotsford to the full 10 years they can do so i.e. MUTUALLY AGREED TO.

There is no set buyout clause as you incorrectly referred to.

How about enlightening us all with your "insider information" about the agreed upon amount.

X2.......... This clown is a piece of work, if the city and the team came to an agreement the canucks would already be in abbotsford and the flames would be in utica. the couldnt come to an agreement even after the AHL gave them an extra 30 days. and if the do ever come to an agreement, the city of abbotsford will be broke.....

Page 14 of 43 of the agreement says:
"2.3 Despite the Term, the parties will review the financial terms of this Agreement at the end of the fifth Hockey Operating Year, but unless mutually agreed to by both parties, no party shall be compelled to amend this Agreement."

This is a contract entered into by two or more parties. This says that the agreement may not be amended(or ended) without an agreement between the parties. How do you get by that? The Calgary Flames have to agree. Why would they agree to anything that displaces their team and relieves them of such a sweet deal? Again, doesn't make sense.

Given this contract I have no doubt that the City of Abbotsford will want a review but like the contract says, they need those on the other side of the table to agree to any changes. That includes a buyout. They can make an offer but that doesn't mean the Flames will accept.

Umm actually the flames did agree to a buyout last year. The Canucks went for a homerun from abbottsford and missed. They put their players in Utica this season. Won't happen next season. Btw, the flames do not own a majority of the heat franchise. The Canucks will not be a parent team of the comets next season. In all likelihood the flames or devils may step in. For the sake if Utica you better hope for one if those.

After this season it's going to cost the Canucks about 4 million to get into abbottsford. That money will more than be made up by huge increases in attendance for their home team and the simple fact the Canucks will require minor league ticket packages be purchased for all NHL season ticket packages. This is the only year the Canucks will be in chootica.

You do know that the Canucks have a season ticket base that is more than 2X the total capacity of Abbotsford's arena don't you? So how exactly does your season ticket idea work or was math not your strong subject?

When utica played in abbotsford only 4900 showed up in a 6000 seat brand new place and thats with the heat fans. Subtract them and i bet there were 3500 comets/canucks fans and that is being generous. Why would they be there with five times the rent and travel costs when they can be doing aboit the same attendance in utica. The canucks are pleasetly suprised about utica. These teams wanna go to smaller arenas. I heard this even before there was any talk of utica getting a team. When the lot and aud work is done teams will be fighting to come here if the attendance stays 3000 to 3500. If we sell out friday and the devils game on 1/17 our average will top 3300 for the year.

basically the same reason a couple would downsize or trim costs as the get older and the family moves out. If they don't need all the extra bedrooms they would move to a smaller ranch. That translated to the ahl is basically teams do not want to pay huge rent costs for a big arena and only fill 1/5 of the place. Perfect example is Albany. They average 2400 in a 15000 person arena. They are most likely losing money. The rent for the aud is 1/5 as much as Albany and theor averaging 3250 for the comets

You do realize there is a huge percentage of people in abbottsford that won't attend any games correct? This is a fact. They won't go out of principle. Having the flames there is no different for them as having the Red Sox affiliate in the Yankees backyard. Please tell me this concept is not lost on you.

Everything I've read says that talks broke down and that lead to Vancouver choosing Utica for this season. I never read anything, at any time, anywhere that even hinted that Calgary agreed to a $4 million buyout. If you have a source for that then why not post it?

You mention a contract and then provide a link. Thank you. When the terms of the contract show that you are wrong in you r opinion you ignore that and now move on to say there is a buyout agreement in place. All you have to do to avoid criticism is to provide definitive proof of what you say. Show us all where an agreement was reached between the Flames and Abbotsford and that will be game, set, match for you.

Am I wrong or in a previous post didn't you say the Flames would have no say after the end of this season? Your new story about a $4 million buyout would indicate that the Flames do (or did according to you) have a say. Which is it? I think you are making this up as you go along.
