Just wanted to pass along something I came across and am glad that I did. I got tired of paying Natl. Greed power. With all the resources in CNY, we should be getting the CHEAPER rates. Anywho, I heard about affordable solar panel kits at Lowe's. They're Andalay Solar panel kits...easy as fu*k to use, very affordable, and I no longer pay Natl Greed for squat. I know times suck up here, and the power company isn't helping. I felt like passing along my discovery to anyone who wants to get off of the money-grabbing 'Grid.

How much for the kit & the install?

Around $1100 for the Andalay Solar .25-Kilowatt Grid-Tie Solar Electric Power Kit. They have the Andalay Solar 1-Kilowatt Grid-Tie Solar Electric Power Kit for about $3200. Plus they have the Andalay Solar 5-Kilowatt Grid-Tie Solar Electric Power Kit for about $14000. I went with the last one since it produces more (worry less). However, it wouldn't be a bad idea to start small and keep adding on and funds become available. The best part about these is that they're easy to install.....yourself! I think it was easier than building a birdhouse back in high school.

What are you running one led light.

If you use a 1000 kWh a month, you would need a 9 kWh system at 21,000,00 dollars.

Your system must be great in your tent with one light bulb.

Exactly!! Just wish there were an easy way to replace them. They are totally out of control with poor customer service and constant rate hikes. With the rates we pay, programming should be commercial free! Bet they loose a good number of subscribers this time around though.

Well, ROLOL, apparently you didn't pay much attention in math, science, or shop class. So, while you're at McD's piggybacking their free WiFi on your hand-me-down laptop, let me explain what solar panels in general can actually power:

For a small 1-2 person home, you would use a 1.5kW system. This would supply power for a fridge, energy efficient lights, an LCD TV, standby appliances, a washing machine, and a dishwasher (depending on how many loads/week you do).

For a medium 2-3 person home, you would use a 3kW system. This would supply power for a fridge, lights, LCD TV, standby appliances, washing machine (5 loads/week), a dishwasher (5 loads/week), a computer, and a small air conditioner.

For a large home with 4 or more people, you would use a 5kW system...which is what I purchased, if you read my posting correctly, ROLOL. This supplies power for a fridge, 20+ halogen lights, plasma and multiple TV's, standby appliances, washing machine (more than 5 loads/week), a dishwasher (more than 5 loads/week), a clothes dryer (more than 5 loads/week), a computer, a large or multiple air conditioners, and a pool pump.

So, that being said, you can now understand why I went with the higher model. People could definitely get by with a couple of 1kW panels. I highly recommend looking into it (Andalay Solar is a great company to work with...great customer service and very reliable). As for you, ROLOL, why try to nitpick something that's trying to help everyone out with their electric bills...unless you work for the 'Grid.

Not sure what street your hore mother walks to get you that POS Dell you own because your loser family can't afford a real one or to pay NIMO, but it must be in the ghetto.

So welfare, you think you know a computer, you're a loser like mom.

Why does DDR3 1866 have a DRAM of 500MHz ?

What is the difference between win 8 and 8.1 Rollup A in the kernel ?

Where do you work welfare 3-11 at Burger king.

Get out of your hore mothers basement, and post the NIMO bill for last month, white out the name so we don't vomit from knowing who the hore is.

Show us how you pay zero, like you family is ZERO.

Finally!
A smart poster! satcust, is on the ball! With a site like this, trolls are bound to be on, kids that have masturbated too much, and HS dropouts.
The power company is mandated to buy the excess power you produce also. In Germany, you see solar panels all over the place. Trouble is in the US, most are not smart enough to see the benefits,PROOF is evident with the responses here to the informative information.
Thanks Guy! Great idea for me.

We all know he read this as he posted 4 times of empty rants, he doesn't have the intelligence to answer the questions, nor has he posted his bill, had more then enough time. Might be till tomorrow till he makes a fake bill so he doesn't look like the moron he is.

Poor thing can't afford nimo.

Thank you, evensteven. I'm glad someone here has a form of intelligence. As cliffy, ROLOKL, and danny have a nice fudge-packing three-way, you're shown some intelligence on the actual topic at hand and haven't gone off on some childish rant about nothing remotely related to the subject matter. My guess is that they are all unsuccessful dropouts who have nothing better to do. But yes, evensteven, it's worth looking into. You can either contact Andalay or even ask at Lowe's and they can help you out and tell you the same power coverage that I told you. The numbers don't lie. As far as my usage bill, how is that relevant? I used to be a Grid customer, now I'm not. Simple as that. Everything I ran under the Grid I now run by solar, and the ignorant posters are too ashamed to admit that I'm not paying a bill anymore and they are. Do yourselves a favor...really...stop with the mindless banter, go online, and actually research what solar power can cover in your house. I believe you'll be amazed (and embarassed) that I'm 100% correct in my numbers. Go ahead...I'll wait around...unless you have other childish remarks to post about how you wish you had my intelligence and capabilities.

Good call, Backyard. This stuff makes sense to you too, right? I didn't have a purple crayon to make it more fun for rashy, danny, and rolokl, but I figured for everyone else this is pretty self-explanatory. Let me know if you need anymore info on the topic and I'd be glad to help.

OMG your a welfare scumbag loser.

So you don't sell all this extra power back to nimo, you never run out an totally covered.

Save your welfare low life rants failure.

Sad, your welfare brain knows nothing about a computer, maybe someday your mother will get on a real street an you can take some classes.

Lets laugh at this low life, she will never post her last bank statement showing the last payment to nimo, and the last bill so we can see her usage and then calc out the solar power to see how she hasn't got a system to fully cover her needs.

The clown doesn't even know what a computer is.
