The deal they have with Abbotsford says that the the city of Abbotsford (like I said - the taxpayers) will make up the difference between actual revenue and operating costs. That deal has already cost those taxpayers millions. That means that if they didn't sell one more ticket for the rest of the season or for the playoffs should they make it that far, they would not lose one thin Canadian dime. They are in the third year of that deal. The contract is for ten years. With a contract like that one has to ask why they would leave.<quoted text>
The abbotford heat do have to sell tickets and the placement of the flames team was because of its relation in distance to vancouver. I also found it interesting in the article that Calgary says how committed they are to abbotsford and how the talks of a three way deal never existed...yet flames officials were in utica and the utica aud right up until the day esche registered the domain name uticaflames.com Doesn't sound too committed to me. Lol
I never saw anything that said Flames reps were in Utica. Where did you get that tidbit? Like the signed, sealed and delivered contract that only you seem to have propritery knowledge of I guess. Oh wait though. You also said that thousands of people know. The problem with anyone believeing that though is that you seem to be the only one saying this while everyone else including both Rob Esche and the Calgary Flames are outright denying a deal exists.
The Calgary Flames said NO deal ever existed, three way or otherwise. I think there may have been something but it was based on New York State taxpayer funding. Since the budget has passed and there is no way to justify taxpayer funding of any kind, let alone at the the level the Heat has with Abbotsford, whatever was contemplated/talked about/written on a napkin...... is gone.
I know, I know. You are going to say see you at the games. You always say that when you have no explanation for what is obvious to the rest of the world (minus the thousands who know what you know of course).
