That's the problem with New Yorkers. They're riddled with genetic defects and need constant care. I think the rest of the country needs to cut off the people of New York and let them die off. Society needs a healthy gene pool and New Yorkers are only polluting it.

The president doesn't have to sign off on anything and they are not throwing out. Ted Cruz et al are talking about not funding it. The president has no power to spend one red cent of taxpayer money. Congress has the power of the purse. If Congress were to refuse to further fund implementation of Obamacare then the law is essentially useless. It would still be a law but there would be no taxpayer money to carry it out.
Did you not know that is how our government works?
You know nothing! Congress has already passed the ACA. The Cruz ship has sailed without the majority of the crew. Cruz has sold his career down the river for the TEA PARTY. Wasting time with childish tactics which appeal to extreme factions that will NEVER influence good government. You might as well go back to the 60's and join a reactionary group. All NUTTTS!

Congress controls all funding. A law can be rendered toothless if Congress votes to not fund the law. The ACA is a law but can be rendered useless by not granting funding for it. That was what Cruz was advocating.

To do what his constituents elected him to do is not a time wasting, childish tactic. It's called doing his job.

As far as the Tea Party, first let me say that I am not a member but I understand their point of view and agree with much of what they have to say. According to their website these are their core beliefs:
" 1. Illegal aliens are here illegally.
2. Pro-domestic employment is indispensable.
3. A strong military is essential.
4. Special interests must be eliminated.
5. Gun ownership is sacred.
6. Government must be downsized.
7. The national budget must be balanced.
8. Deficit spending must end.
9. Bailout and stimulus plans are illegal.
10. Reducing personal income taxes is a must.
11. Reducing business income taxes is mandatory.
12. Political offices must be available to average citizens.
13. Intrusive government must be stopped.
14. English as our core language is required.
15. Traditional family values are encouraged"

I don't find any of these beliefs to be extreme or childish. As a matter of fact I find them to be more in line with the government that the Founders and Framers of the US Constitution had in mind when they designed our government. Which by the way is a representative republic where duly elected representatives like Ted Cruz all have an equal say and a right to let their views be known as long as the follow the rules of their respective houses of congress. He did that.

I like your intelligence. Unfortunately, as with Obuma and nearly all of congress, et al, theses guys lack the selflessness, clarity, conscious, sincerity or temerity to do and see it otherwise for "we the people". This rat dweller you're exchanging with on here would rather be living the bolshevik dream the bask in the glory of the true (sadly now defunct) great REPUBLIC. Keep up the good fight compatriot.

Right you are my friend. The responses you received just prove how desperate and irrelevant the tea baggers have become. Their leader dujour stands in the halls of congress and reads Dr Seuss and they actually admire that! I take great joy in their self inflicted demise. Cruz is simply Palin with a dick! I love it!

Almost as much as continued big spending, Democrats want to blame Republicans for the problems big government produced. You just can't keep spending more than you earn.

Brian, hold on to your 'G-string'. Congress passed the ACA. Are there Republicans in the Congress? Senator Ted is 'Cruzin' for a 'Bruzin'. He is fast becoming the next Sarah Palin.
Tea Party members of Congress have a checkered history in progressing in the political circles.
By the time the GOP debates show up Cruz will be lucky if his name is even mentioned.

Time will tell whether the Tea Party withers on the vine. My opinion is that since the two major parties have become so much alike, times are ripe for the birth of a real third party. It may not be the Tea Party but it will be a party that will restore American pride and fiscal sanity.

At the core of what is going on right now is an increase in the debt limit. Right now the US Government is doing the equivalent of a person living a lifestyle they can't afford by using a credit card. Just like a person wouldn't be able to do that over the long haul neither will the US government.
