Has anyone here used them for any contracting work?
Am thinking of calling them for addition to my home and wanted to know more about them.
No sarcastic comments, just the truth please.

if you don't mind hiring someone that's filed bankruptcy and has tons of judgments against them, by all means hire them

The roof looks great has not leaked yet (lol). Garage doors and openers are perfect yes perfect. And the fence I bought from someone else now stands. OK maybe the perfect was an overstatement nothing is perfect how about. Well done and happy with all 3 jobs. I have not had a huge job like an addition but I have seen some of his houses very well built high quality materials.

Randy has done several jobs for me over the years. Now the has gone out on his own he is much better off.

I have also referred him to friends and neighbors, who all have been satisfied.

I would not hesitate to call him again.

I wouldn't use them again. Ironically they have a good rating at BBB website. Don't rely on BBB. A lot of re-work was required to fix things. When you contact them expect to wait a while for a response.

Their website says they are the exclusive "woman-centric" builder in the area, whatever that means. Not sure they know what they want to do either. The wife is CEO/ president on the website, but runs 69 Steakhouse. Must be some kind of minority business thing they're doing. Probably because he went bust with Noreaster as a contractor. Now he works for the Town of Deerfield by day and contractor the rest of the time. Maybe he can snag more jobs away from full-time GCs in Deerfield.

Started out good for a few room remodel. Demo and new drywall. Workers were nice but made some basic mistakes. Doorways for bi-fold doors were too narrow and one was crooked. They sent someone to fix it but one was still too narrow. This is carpentry 101 stuff. The wife gave me a hard time about the repairs. I would not recommend.

Built the house I own now, as Nor'Easter. Many flaws and short cuts taken. Would not recommend to any other person to have any work done on their house. Hell is still freezing for a call back on that "check list" that needed to be completed. At least 100 screw pop ups in drywall through out the entire house.
Truthfully, they are nice people, just do not have them as builders.

BBB is not really a reliable source any more, if they ever were. They will offer memberships to businesses without really knowing there reputation.
A person would do better to ask around. Start with the local builders supply stores like Jay K. They've been around forever and know who the good (and bad) builders are. How well they pay, and who their customers were. Also, check with your local building department and ask them about reputable builders (but if you're in Deerfield, you'll have to ask someone else, because Randy Foley is the Codes officer)
A little bit of research beforehand is more than worth the effort compared to the problems later.

Just pay attention to some of the previous comments here.
With the exception of the owner's brother, what I saw on my project was a revolving door of workers. I was not at all impressed with the people Mr. Foley had at my home!

I see this post and have to laugh! Watch out homeowners. Randy will get your money, then pay out expenses on other jobs. Then when its time to do your work, he puts it off, because he doesn't have the money anymore. Then when he finally does get paid from his other little jobs he can by the materials for your job. This is the rob Peter to pay Paul method of doing business at Foley Builders. In the meantime, he either blames the builder supply for screwing up the order or blames his subs for not showing up. That's why your project will drag on. He filed for bankruptcy as NorEaster people. Then he filed for bankruptcy personally.
For any one in the trades: Think twice before you do any work for Foley Builders. Not only does he fail to pay, but why damage your reputation by association with this "contractor?" Really, there are a lot better GCs in the area to work for.
