Hello New Hartford! Your Library Tortoise here.
Your New Hartford Library has created a YouTube video to get you mad and steamed up that Pat Tyksinski only increased the NH Library Budget by $50,000 for next year! We need at least 3 times that much added to the $400,000 they gave us last year.

Here's the video!

New Hartford Library is a text book case of doing less and less with every increase in funding. Linda Ramano is a sour grape

Linda Romano is a pushy, obnoxious, loudmouthed spoiled brat that wants to build a mausoleum, not a library.

Give it up Linda... let someone else take over that has the best interests of the library in mind. Someone that sincerely cares about making it better. You are not that person.

I saw those signs. What mess! Who's brilliant idea was to paste all those ugly signs all over the wall.

The NH Library needs quality leadership.

Get rid of Linda Romano. She has accomplished nothing, she's arrogant, condescending - and I agree - obnoxious. Why is she there? We need a great library in New Hartford. What we have isn't even a good library.

I'll bet her Dad is as disgusted as I am.

Linda Romano term ends in December. The NH town board should disapprove her reappointment to the Library Board of Trustees meeting
Fix is in

If the Town reinstates her, the fix is in. Her leadership deficiencies are known far and wide. Friends and family?

The fix is in. Tysinski increased the library budget as a reward from for Romano's support for his reelection.

Linda Romano must have the Pat Tyksinski negatives. Why does he always get rolled over by her?

Her library leadership has been abysmal, yet she is allowed to remain. The NH library is a write-off. It will never improve. It's toast.

Here we go again. Sounds like Ed Wiatr and Ed Flemma are upset (and obsessed) with Linda Romano yet again. Please tell me what either Ed Wiatr or Ed Flemma have done to improve our community. Nothing. Both are merely on a seek and destroy mission. Move on boys!

This debacle is bigger than Wiatr and Flemma. Tons of people are fed up with the decline of the NH library. Not many supporter, like you, left. The tide has turned against reappointment of Ms Romano.

Good luck with your delusion.

Who paid to produce this video? Was it done on taxpayer's time, with library equipment?

Let's concentrate on improving the library. Likely this will be done when Romano and her team are removed. This has become a town embarrassment.

Exactly. I second that. Agreed.

The video was produced by Ed Wiatr and his girlfriend. They video tape all library and Town of New Hartford board meetings.

Well then Linda Romano should thank Concerned Citizens for the video. After Linda Romano put those signs all over the magazine racks so all of New Hartford would get mad and demand that the town board give even more money to her library.

That is the operative word: "her". The library is all about Linda.

She has lost sight of the fact that it is not hers. We need a Director that will focus on improving services, and forget the politics. It a resource that is being squandered - at the expense of NH taxpayers. Someone new needs to stop the hemorrhaging.

Thank you Concerned Citizens for making this video!
We Trustees voted and approved all of those signs on the magazine racks. Thanks to you, everyone can now see how the New Hartford Library suffers under this austere budget from Pat Tyksinski.

Its very expensive running a library and our staff is underpaid. That's why we took $16,000 of library funds that was originally for magazines subscriptions and instead gave it to Hans Plembeck after he retired.

It was more important to us Library Trustees to give taxpayer money to former employees then buy books and magazines for our library.

You make a very good point. Hiring employees to monitor the security cameras, paying bonuses to departing employees etc can mount up fast.

As a taxpayer, I think it was a wise decision to discontinue magazine subscriptions, because they can be very expensive - and who needs magazines anyway.

You hard working, under appreciated trustees are doing a stellar job. Keep up the good work. We are so proud of our library, and how well it is managed.

My kids are PO'ed that they have no magazines. What kind of a library has no magazines? I would like to hear the official NH Library explanation (or defense of this ridiculous decision). C'mon, no magazines?

Its worse than that. NH Library Trustees Linda Romano, Rich Evans and Heather Mowat actually voted to give away $16,000 in money that could have been used for magazines and at the same time voted to put those ugly signs up to guilt taxpayers in giving them even more money. Romano, Evans, and Mowat are up for reappointment as Library Trustees. Let's hope that the NH town board shows all three of them the door.
