http://www.uticaod.com/news/x931209687/LaBell...

My favorite part....
When LaBella was asked whether he went to the doctor that Saturday, he wouldnt say.

Im not going to discuss my illness anymore, LaBella said. That is a private matter.

He got the note WITHOUT EVER SEEING THE DOCTOR!!!

Did the note come in the DAY BEFORE LaBella was ill?!?
Well that only makes sense. That way the cardiologist-relative doesn't have to actually examine you when you get ill tomorrow.

Who goes to a cardiologist with the sniffles??? This is a disgraceful situation. Why doesn't the Mayor starp on a set and say 'HE'S MY BUD -- HE HAS THE JOB -- YOU CAN'T CHANGE THAT -- I'M GLAD I RAN PYLMAN OUT EVEN THOUGH THE POLICE FORCE IS ONCE AGAIN A JOKE AND WE'RE REFERRED TO AS DODGE CITY -- MY BOYS AND MY FRANK-SINATRA-FANTASY ARE MORE IMPORTANT THAT YOU STUPID VOTERS.' And while we're at it -- what the hell kind of a cardiologist doesn't tell him to LOSE WEIGHT???

How sad to have Fred give him a note after the fact. By the way they both were together yesterday at a graduation party...Someone should turn Fred into the ethics board for his profession.

LaBella said he thought he might have called the county March 7 and left a message about missing the first exam.

Im not 1,000 percent sure, he said.I might have tried to call personnel.

I'm not 1000 % sure of this entire situation.

This Guy is a quack, besides who would want to hang out with Danny Labella and Dave Roefaro at the Chesterfield drinking wine and eating with the Goomba Club, his Nurse Practioner Pat Rosati who thinks she is a doctor diagnoses patients and writes out prescriptions, and yet the cardiologist uses the same bill rate as if he was examining the patient.

Get a clue buddy in NYS Nurse practitioners can diagnose and write prescriptions so she is working in her scope of practice not trying to be a doctor. If you live in Virginia what does all this matter to you? And Fred is a General Practitioner as well as a Cardiologist.

No, No, No, there was no sob story. Fred knew what he was getting into. Fred falsified a Drs note because he was in on the plan from the beginning. He deserves to have his name out there because he could've just as easily told Danny NO keep me out of your little scam. He didn't. He deserves the Free press

NP's have to work under the supervision of a MD....
NP's are notmedical doctors but we are billed as though we were sent by an NP...sometiomes the NP is better than an MD

Still don't have it right...NPs work in collaboration and have independent licenses separate from the MDs license, PAs are supervised and have to list an MD on their license and scripts. As for the billing you mention this may be fishy as NPs get reimbursed at a different rate. Why do you think NPs are setting up their own businesses in Utica. Who cares anyway, Patty did not write the note so don't knock her ethics for a minute, she is a class A Nurse Practitioner. Fred is an innocent bystander who is now caught up in this political mess. Who knows Labella may have given Fred an award winning performance to get the note, this happens often. Ask any provider, like the first day of hunting season or christmas day or a long stretch of midnight shifts or better yet the day before or after the big event. Perfectly healthy individuals run to the doctors office with BS complaints and the last thing they say is...oh can I have a work note! Desperate people undergo desperate measures. Fred may have not known all the pathology surrounding the event, he may have listened to his patient and gave him a note. Writing a day out of work due to illness is not a crime. One thing is true, Fred Talerico has been committed and good to many people in the area and has cared for many individuals, that is why his office is packed.

Dr. Talerico works most weekends and goes to both hospitals so this is not uncommon.

Baloney.
If you're sick on the wekend your best hope is that Dr. Rubin is on in the St. E's ER. Talarico is seldom available for any of his patients nights or weekends. Try getting his phone service (run by the LaBella's) to pass one of your emergency calls on to him.

I loved this part in the article! Either you did call or you didn't. Don't tell us you MIGHT have. COME ON!! I can't believe he would even say those sentences out loud. Sounds completely ridiculous. He thinks the people are really stupid and will believe those lines??
