I was at a game on Thursday night. It was at New Hartford. I heard some commotion going on between the fans. When I got closer I heard the Fort Schuyler fans complaining that the NH announcer was only announcing the NH team. I was, needless to say, somewhat shocked especially when the announcer was asked why and his reply was, what's the problem, were the home team. The Fort parents where all saying how classless this was. I'm gonna have to agree. Wow...I really the NH was better then that. I guess not. Just ignorant. You can't buy class.

I'm not shocked by this behavior at all. NH claims to have class & all they are is classless. That is the worst display of poor sportsmanship that I have ever heard of. Wow!

I don't think it is terribly nice to announce only one of the teams. But if that was the worse display of poor sportsmanship you've ever heard of then I guess you have been fortunate because I have seen and heard much worse and it happens all the time!

I'm sorry but when it comes to the announcer from another team not announcing the other team...that is displaying poor sportsmanship. You certainly would expect more from the people hosting the game. Now if parents are arguing among themselves, I have certainly heard it all...but I definitely expect more from the team & it's cronies. I agree with poster #1. Totally classless!

I apologize for the acts of a small minded simpleton. He should not be announcing if he is so ambivalent. His actions do not represent the best of New Hartford. This single thoughtless act should not reflective of our community as a whole.

Really?!? If it was a kind who was just announcing his buddies-no big deal..If it was a true announcer not doing both teams-then classless...Listen- all you NH haters and want to be's, we are like the yankees-everyone hates them, but everyone wants to play for them...if it wasnt for NH this sh*t hole of an area would have nothing I and I mean nothing)...no mall..no wal mart..no lowes..no cinema..all the restaurants..etc etc.etc..all of you "NH haters"" then stay out of my town-dont shop, dont drink, dont eat, dont do anything..go to w'boro, clinton, or utica to do all that..oh i forgot there is nothing there

The bottom line...it should not have happened. It made New Hartford look bad. The coach should have not let a "kid" announce a game if he didn't have the intelligence or decency to announce the other team.

Well I do agree with the comment that NH people are classless. I have seen throughout the baseball years these parents coaching their children through little league and school baseball and then the post team to push these kids through the program. These parents just tend to look through rose colored glasses and think that their priviliged children should be the start atheletes and play on every damn team. Then you get the kids who have some talent and well.... I guess they should sit the bench. The politics in this town are terrible. All of these people are out for themselves and do nothing to benefit this sports program. Which in my opinion sucks!!! I like to see what happens to these spoiled privilidged kids when they get to college level and leave the NH bubble. What a joke!!!

Exactly...Wondering if they know how much they make a fool of themselves taking their "short cut" with their attempt at making their sons shine with better batting averages. Having certain players that give their sons the most competition, take a pitch or two, in return giving them the disadvantage of just one or two strikes versus their boys having the three, will eventually reveal itself down the road. Not doing your sons any favors. Even if the numerous bunts set up with the JV coach along with the take a pitch tactic, succeed in lowering certain players batting avg, all in an attempt to have your son(s) make a certain team next year, I have a good hunch those coaches know what your up to as well. Guess what? I think they now want to win next year more than ever! So work a little harder with your boys the truth will eventually reveal. Also, isnt it strange your buddy ump, Tom, calls a strike on an obvious ball then shouts out " ya got to start swinging boys" why is it of concern to the ump who is swinging? Or a thrown strike by a certain pitcher, calling it a ball, different game same ump...geez, is the ump set up  with your "game" too? What clue do you give him? Hat off, an advance notification of a # to mess with? The only time you coaches lay off, somewhat, if it's a close game. Unbelievable.

The funny thing is when these kids graduate the vast majority of them become very successful individuals. New Hartford schools have the least amount of dropouts, and the most kids that go onto higher education then any oter school in the area. There's a reason people from other towns dont like NH, people don't like the best of the best unless they have it too.

Oh you are sorely mistaken. ND has 100% graduation & 100% moving on to college. ND is the best of the best by far.

It may as well be the kids don't make it much further there than any of the other mindless losers the schools in this area churn out. Especially since "baseball" seems to be the big priority in the area. That's why people have been laughing saying they all end up as public workers.

You are the one who said any other school in the area. You didn't say public school, but you proved the posters point, ND is the best in the area.
