I can tell you have absolutely no idea how a police department works or what makes them efficient. Working short hand is one reason for delays in calls and the reason there is so much overtime. This summer proved that on many occasions when you had brawls, shots fired and other crimes occurring all at the same time where outside agencies had to be called in to assist and officers were called back on duty, hence overtime and not enough officers on the UPD.
You make me laugh. People like you will never appreciate your police or fire departments until you or your family needs them and that's a fact.
Also, idiot, I haven't needed any last responders in my life since I can remember so save all your pennyanny rah rah rah. Further, in my city and region the response times are short, and the cops are pros. You simply can't say that for your area. FACT!You burned those bridges so go talk big somewhere where idiots will believe you. Try the OD forums. They're more your speed I think.

I can tell YOU have no idea how to admit the truth. Don't argue with me moron: Tom Dinapoli found that Utica public safety is THE most expensive in the state. No me, HIM. So go argue with the state comptroller and cry me a river.
Other ODs seem to get by with fare less so save your excuses and lies for someone else.
Please PLEASE show me in your "infinite excuse making wisdom" how you are going to explain the report away in real sentences not excuses and rhetoric. You can't.

We see now who has no idea how police departments work! Another crybaby denial expert who speaks without knowing or expects everyone to be as stupid and gullible ans the idiots you talk at there all day!

Spending overtime pay to cover roll-call pay stipend to members of the Uniform Patrol division even after it was cut from the budget. No surprise overtime pay is over budget....

Hey buddy you are not dum but you are also saying the word per capita with out realizing how unique Utica is to other cities its size. It is filled with poor immigrants with a huge black and Hispanic population which statistics say ( not me) account for a huge percent of the extremely high crime rate in Utica. To keep the city safe you would actually have to flood the streets with cops and have stop and frisk like NYC did. But you can't due to the economy and civil rights so Utica is going to unfortunalty deal with high crime with an understaffed police force. And another fact is that roll call pay is not a perk or stipend. The officers are required to be there 15 minutes early at the lowest legal rate so don't think the city is loosing out. They are actually stealing from the officers illegally against a contract and making out on this so far.

Tell the truth, most of the cops get rollcall pay even if they are not at work, or even late. I do believe that is called stealing.

State guide lines determines how many officers a municipality needs to be efficient and Utica is under those guide lines so you can quote all the reports you want. Means nothing to me. Very difficult and quite dumb to compare other areas to Utica unless you are only comparing the crimes being committed.
Don't know where you live because every post you put up you use a different name and you say you live in the United States. What, afraid to say where you live? Well buddy, I live in Utica and that is the only area I am concerned with. You worry about the whole US and I'll worry about what is happening in Utica.

yes before April they did frank which was in the contract because when investigators got a promotion to investigator they would lose money so they got show up pay which in reality was the wrong name for a raise for the promotion which was an error on the unions part to call it that. But now only the patrol division is getting it at a lesser rate then the contract so in my book that's stealing. Agree or not a contract is a contract. Ask the Yankees and Alex Rodriquez. I know tax payers don't wanna hear about spending money but know one ever tells the facts.

Take a look at the UPD's new Facebook page now on Google and you will see for yourself that 90% of all the crimes committed in Utica are done by the blacks!!!!

This includes all the shootings, murders, assaults, thefts, and other barbaric crimes. The blacks in Utica are the lowest of the low and suck off the Welfare system for all they can get. To supplement their free ride thru life, they deal dope.

This is far from being "racist" - it is REALITY!!!!

The promotion should have caused them to lose the ability to obtain the show up pay but was still provided though not included in the contract... I thought I read somewhere the wording of the contract allowed the Mayor to cut show up pay from the budget. I agree nobobdy wants their pay cut but we are all dealing with hard times and those that are working (such as myself) are putting in more hours and taking on additional responsibilities with little or no increase in pay. Overall, you guys do a good job but are also paid very well....

I heard brooks backed into a trooper car at the scene yesterday. Why was he there in the first place, there was no rescue, it was strictly a recovery. He is always trying to steal the limelight, who pays for the damage to his city vehicle and the sp vehicle.
Brooks has been assigned a 2013 Escalade, fully equipped with all rescue gear. He has complete 24/7 usage of this. He spent 6 days in August @ Saratoga at the flats with this vehicle. If he was at the scene it had to be official in some capacity. The city will completely pay all damages if warranted. NYS's oldest active fire chief at 89 years old.
