whats up with the chief trying to take a jab at the news regarding police overtime..... i think its kinda pathetic that someone would claim overtime in an infants name to tell you the truth i guess they don't have a reason now for the overtime since the infant has been found ..... bit who really found the infant when the upd is saying the state police contacted them? i guess with all the overtime hours they really didn't get the info on his whereabouts

Maybe he was trying to justify the show up pay overtime because they were working on this case?

Looks like the NYSP is the once who figured it all out.

UPD & UFD will always be crying they need tons of overtime due to understaffing of their depts. You think Williams of UPD is bad? Brooks is the biggest baby always saying he needs at least 25-30 fulltime hires.

Again the main point is lost. Blame police as usual. When will America admit that blacks are the cause of 90 percent of police and fire/medical calls. If there were none in Utica you would need a 60 man department not 560. Just in this case a black caused all this money by killing his kid not the police.

Who really gives a damn who got the information first since all law enforcement agencies now work together on solving crimes which benefits us completely. The important thing is they found this poor little baby and he can be put to rest properly. God rest his little soul.

And as far as overtime I hope you don't think this missing baby is the only crime happening in Utica. Get your head out of you ass, read the newspaper and watch the news so you can be informed better concerning all the crimes taking place in Utica before you make stupid statements.
The UPD is well understaffed and that is a known "fact" so until the force is brought up to the right number of officers to patrol Utica's streets the overtime will continue to be there. You can thank Utica's common council members for that shortage in the UPD and the overtime.

Let the state police handle the case from the beginning. They solved it and it would have been a lot cheaper. I don't think upd could solve a crime that happened in front of their noses.

Why can' the UPD and UFD be run like a business. How many businesses are you aware of which have the amount of excessive overtime the UPD has? Granted things come up but what has been that serious? I guess some police departments in NY State have figured out ways to reduce overtime and save money:

UPD is the most inefficient and expensive in the state per capita. FACT. They can't control what they have without making fools out of themselves who really wants to give them more excuses to fuck off? Get real you really have an inflated sense of their worth. They have made a history of problems they deserve nothing. When they can function without all the problems MAYBE they can reconsider their "wants" because what they and Brooks "want" has always proven to be a joke and a waste.

Here is part of the extra overtime expenditure fromn a Utica OD article in M<ay of this year...

Utica police officers still getting roll-call pay.

About half of the Utica Police Department’s officers still are being paid a stipend that was stricken from the department’s budget. Chief Mark Williams revealed during a recent Finance Committee meeting that the department is using part of its overtime budget to pay the roll-call pay stipend to members of the Uniform Patrol division, but at a reduced rate...

The decision to pay the stipend with overtime likely will put the department’s budget in a serious crunch, said Councilman Joseph Marino, D-4.

“I can’t imagine how (Williams) will be able to stay within his overtime budget,” he said.

To help make up for those expected overages, money likely will be taken from the salary lines, Williams said.

I can tell you have absolutely no idea how a police department works or what makes them efficient. Working short hand is one reason for delays in calls and the reason there is so much overtime. This summer proved that on many occasions when you had brawls, shots fired and other crimes occurring all at the same time where outside agencies had to be called in to assist and officers were called back on duty, hence overtime and not enough officers on the UPD.

You make me laugh. People like you will never appreciate your police or fire departments until you or your family needs them and that's a fact.

I can tell YOU have no idea how to admit the truth. Don't argue with me moron: Tom Dinapoli found that Utica public safety is THE most expensive in the state. No me, HIM. So go argue with the state comptroller and cry me a river.
Other ODs seem to get by with fare less so save your excuses and lies for someone else.
Please PLEASE show me in your "infinite excuse making wisdom" how you are going to explain the report away in real sentences not excuses and rhetoric. You can't.

We see now who has no idea how police departments work! Another crybaby denial expert who speaks without knowing or expects everyone to be as stupid and gullible ans the idiots you talk at there all day!
