We turn our clocks ahead and back again because the idiots who thought of the Gregorian calendar never foresaw the problems conflicting with actual time and making up uneven months.

Subscribe to the lunar year. There are 13 full moons in a year, so 13 months, all even in days. No leap year, no daylight savings. Just time as time is.

That has nothing to do with daylights savings time. It was originally devised by Ben Franklin to curb candle usage in the evening.Later it became common as a way to reduce electric consumption. These days the primary reason is people like having the extra daylight at the end of the work day.Daylight savings is the actual time of day as determined by the sun. Day light earnings during the summer is the corrupted time.Neither one makes up for uneven months.

1. Daylight savings time was not originally thought up of by Benjamin Franklin. Try George Vernon Hudson. http://www.timeanddate.com/time/dst/history.h...

2. Franklin's proposal had nothing to do with curbing candle use. It was done to take advantage of daylight, again for economic reasons.

3. The first actual use of daylight savings time was in Germany in 1916 to help save fuel for the war. Again, an economic reason. http://www.timeanddate.com/time/dst/history.h...

4. If daylight savings time is the correct solar time, as you say, then the clock-turned-back months are the corrupted time period. I have no idea of what you mean by "daylight earnings." Sounds like an economic term to me. Man-made corrupted time periods are not natural time periods. Period.

I never said daylight savings causes the uneven months. I said the idiots created the uneven months when they instituted the Gregorian calendar (first by instituting the Julian calendar).

But, the one factual thing you said was that daylight savings time has nothing to do with actual time. It is a man-made event done for economic reasons. There is nothing natural about that.

Exactly my friend. The economic reasons were due to lighting. It was to curb lighting cost by utilizing the longer days. Same function is how it saved the fuel for the war efforts.Lunar calenders were abandoned because they don't coincide properly with the seasons. You did say somehow that the time changes are linked to the calender and are similar to leap years. They are unrelated. The concept can be applied to lunar calenders if chosen to.
Daylight earnings is the proper turn for the time change in the spring. You save in the winter to earn in the summer.I fully admitted that daylight savings is true solar time.My point was that it is all economic reasons originally it was a move to reduce energy use (fuel, candles, electricity). These days the main economic reason is in the service industries as people tend to spend more income in these sectors with the later days of summer. The scheme has been used since colonial times in varying ways in different areas. Each choosing as to do it or not do it.It often caused a lot of problems because of different areas implementing it according to their own whims and often neighboring towns, counties,or other divisions being on a different time.
