They give away more tickets than they sell. Anyone who buys advertiding gets season tix. Its a joke.

And I suppose the line of people that wrapped around the Aud on Saturday to buy tickets was a joke too?

Overheard radio station saleswoman talking to prospective advertiser: she told him if he bought 50 1 minute ads he would get 2 season tickets. If he needed more for specific dates, she eould give him as many as he wanted.

I was down at the Aud last Saturday morning standing in line with only 9 people ahead of me at 6:00am to purchase premier tickets for the opening game on Oct 23 and we were told when they open the ticket window at 10:00 am that there were no premier seats left. You tell me how that is possible if they're not giving away the better seats before the tickets even went on sale. I ended up with some pretty crappy seats and will probably not attend another game if this is how things are going to be handled.
please

The truth is there's no bad seats in the aud and it's better to sit up above the walkway anyway as you can see the game better!

well lets do the math dullard..... 1500 to 1600 season tickets were sold first, then partial (22 games including the home opener and first weekend) sold next, by the time the single game tickets went on sale there were less than 1,000 tickets available in a 4,000 seat arena. what did you expect, all those 1,000 seat would be on the glass???? i don't know what your worried about, there are no bad seats in the building. and from what i can tell you have your head so far up your azz, you wont be able to see anything anyway...... the building looks awesome!!! new paint, food stands remodeled, new menu items, new sound system and video boards. the aud is looking great!! this will be a totally different experience for hockey fans.

ummm... your full of it, the video board spots are sold out for the season. and if they offer tickets for some advertising its built into the price. the people advertising will need to see the ad. kinda like a used car salesman saying, if you buy the car ill give you 4 free tires,or the furniture salesman saying free delivery. its all ready figured into the price.... you really are a slow one aren't you.......wtf........ that advertising is expensive... i had a business owner tell me he spent over 30 grand in advertising bought from the comets, and he dos not have any tickets cause he too busy. so obviously the ticket with advertising is optional.

theres only 8 sections in the entire building that are premier seating. thats less than 800 seats. thats why i bought 3 season tickets in that area. typical loser, too cheap to buy season tickets to the hottest event in town, but then expects to sit front and center cause hes going to like two games a year.... what a dum azz.......

I hope they draw well, but history, economy and this area will fail them sooner than later. If they lose, you will see crowds of 2100-2300 people a night. With a capacity of less than 4000, it should be sold out everynight. Never happen in Utica.

For those of you who want to be close to the game but couldn't get tix, there will be a big screen set up on Whitesboro St. showing the game. The band Showtime will be playing and food and refreshments will be also be sold. See you there !

So far the Comets have exceeded expectations with everything they have done.

* Press conference announcing the team - over 200 people showed up
* Facebook site launched - over 2000 followers in less than two days and now approaching 8000
* Season Tickets - over 1000 sold the first weekend that they went on sale and now have more sold than any previous hockey team in Utica.
* Preseason game - sold out in less than 4 hours
* Individual Game Tickets - crowds start waiting in line at 3:30 am when tickets don't go on sale until 10:00 am.
* Opening Night - essentially sells out in 2 hours with only a few remaining scattered tickets left then fully sold out yesterday.
* K-ROCK announces that they will broadcast the opening game live outside of the Aud on a giant screen TV for those who could not get tickets to see the game inside.

I'm pumped. This is going to be the first good thing to happen to this city in a long time. Baby steps and Utica might actually make it out of Ghosttownville.
