Average salaries of the UPD is about $60,000. That does not include overtime but includes the chief's (about $105,000) and two deputies (about ($90,000). Deputies also get overtime.

if they dont do something to rein in health care the cities are going to go broke. They have to pay for a very expensive health/dental plan for city police/ fire on top of the high salaries. Good luck Utica in the future.I just dont see how this could continue.

"Somebody" complained to WKTV and UDN that these notifications for civil service exams were spam and had them removed.
They are NOT spam. "Somebody" doesn't want Utica residents taking open competitive exams? Perhaps for jobs designated for "chosen" candidates?
If qualified residents take the tests and score in the top 3, would that prevent someone hand picked from getting that job?

Take the tests people. Utica's youth deserves good paying jobs too.
Call Civil Service for an application. It's your right.

baily said he wasnt going to comment on his personal finances. He is paid with public funds ,whats so personal about his raise, nobody was asking him about what he was spending it on. What a goofy answer. What else could we expect next. After all the crap we just went through about Labella, heres the payoff for them shutting up
