Lets see if you can fight a fire and man a 3" line while a structure fire rages all around you when you're 88...if you should live so long.

To people like you who are easily impressed I'm sure you think anyone who can walk & talk at the same time is a god.

Leave Brooks alone, the knowledge the guy has in fire suppression is something that Utica needs to be pass on to the younger generation. Hope that he hangs around long enough to provide training to up and coming firefighters. The Hanna administration never had much love for the guy, but we did know the guy knew a thing or two about fire suppression.
Even in the Carolinas I been to a few fires in the line of duty. UFD about the best I have seen. I think Brooks has had a lot to do with that opinion.

Lots of people know a thing or two about fire suppression. And usually it's the fella actually doing it. Most fires are knocked down in its early stages. I can assure you the UFD chief ain't stretching a line and going in. It's his line that is doing the job. I can also assure you that the chief ain't at the training tower guiding them all in. There is a totem pole and things are orderly. Brooks is a survivor for several reasons. But it ain't because he is like a brunicini or salka or some legend in the fire service. Last time I checked he hasn't written any books for fire engineering or started up his own lecture circuit. Stop feeding into nonsense. Alot of his staff over the years would have done a better job. They were never given the opportunity cause he won't give it up over his huge ego.

Now that comment is hilarious. I heard the Masonic Home already made up a name plate for his door. Please somebody just drop him off there already.

NYS Civil Service Law, sec. 24(a.)- states all fire chiefs, whether professional or volunteer, must retire from said position in the year said person reaches 100 in that calendar year. Brooks has 12 years to go.

He wont move over for others that could do better?... Im assuming you mean yourself. Your ego sounds as big as his, theres plenty of guys on the job like you. I bet you're part of the "Know-it-all" crew. If everything were your way, all the problems would go away. You know exactly how to run things, and exactly who needs to be fired. I bet you could launch a hot air balloon with all that wind you blow around the firehouse. We know the type... JK, PT, SI, etc... u know what I mean, you guys will just turn into the next Chief Brooks.
