its called checking out and knowing your options mr. no common sense....... they still do not know if the canucks are even leaving or if the ahl will approve a team in abbotsford. like was said before the ahl is coming back to a smaller footprint and less travel.

They may end up in glens falls if the canucks stay put in utica. they may end up flip flopping cities. you do know that vancouver is a proffesionally run franchise, it wouldnt look to good for their reputation to sign a six year lease and leave after one year. again no common sense.

also for some weird reason you just seem to think this owner got rich blowing money on stupid stuff like your proposing, hes a businessman. it all comes down to $$$$$ and if abbotsford isnt going to give a deal to the canucks that the flames got, it wont work.

there are alot of things that have to fall in place, but with the support in utica, even vancouver fans have said there is no hurry to move the baby canucks.

lets face it, even with the city of abbotsford coughing up a million plus bucks a year, the flames are not happy. so how will the canucks make it work if the have to foot the entire bill ???

A brilliant argument by Dave Smith above. If only he would go missing until June like he promises.

I can just imagine the smell shooting out the windows and doors! Worse than the Shriner's elephants lol!

Why do men outnumber women at Comets games like 50-1?

Hint- HooooMooooos!

Men idolizing other men... sounds like a real "winning" pursuit!

You're right. Things have changed fast. Instead of the flames using utica as a one year rental it was the Canucks. Will utica still support the flames in glens falls?
The moron Utica34 who knows nothing continues insisting he does. He's like a carnival fortune teller except with a giant rash.

You sure about that, pea brain? This article doesn't paint such a rosy picture for your theory.

good article, thats what the auditorium has to offer, state of the art locker rooms, training facilities, player lounge, and a rowdy atmosphere for games!!!!! Rob esche new what he was doing when he came in here, the canuck players love it here. and if the leave the flames players will probobly run them over getting in the door!!!!!! keeping the players happy is a must in todays sports!! as far as im concerned, if the canucks move, it will be their loss and calgarys gain!! i coached a couple youth hockey games in the glens falls civic center 15 yrs ago, and it was showing its age then. and without millions in upgrades its just another outdated arena.......... i was told flat out on friday that the flames want to come to utica. and that came from the horses mouth!!!!!

Do you think parent clubs give a sh it about attendance? All you need to do is look 80 miles east to Albany.
thats new jersey, they are about the only ones that dont care about attenddance, any their minor league city. they are also in the minority with that attitude. most nhl teams like a nice atmosphere for their prospects to play in. its also the reason no one wants their prospects..........again..... absolutley no common sense on your part..........

ummm...... last year that article was acurate and true. Rod Esche and his people change the entire thing around in three months time. they put on a great show, great looking building and atmosphere. games are livley, crowd is involved and food is affordable and great variety. as said befor the locker romms, training area and team lounge are nhl level facilaties!!!! now you need to open your eyes!!!!!!

I see nothing negative in the article. I see the mayor saying a Calgary flames official visited and the building needs updates to the lighting and locker rooms. All the same crap the aud needed last year. I also see the mayor setting up the people that this money will be spent. See you in June. For the record I couldn't give two craps about ahl hockey. I just find it humorous how blind people get to the facts.
nothing negative in the article, are you really that clueless???? here are some quotes from the article: "So far nothing has panned out." thats a negative......".In the past, teams wanted the city to cover as much as a $1 million termination fee to leave their current arena." that would be another negative.......".Diamond said the issues have come down to finances and that the city is not in a position to cover a team’s potential losses in the first year or two as the team adapts its business model. If the arena were regionalized, and supported by more than 14,000 people, Diamond suggested, it might be in a better place to negotiate with teams financially." thats another negative......" there are fewer corporate sponsorships available than in other cities." yet another negative, remember utica comets sold more advertising than any other AHL team. wow.... you are completly devoid of any common sense.........

And so is that article.
Also speaking as someone who's actually been in the comets new rooms...other ahl rooms...and a few NHL rooms...the comets facilities are far from NHL caliber. In fairness no ahl rooms are NHL caliber. I guess the closest would have been the phantoms when they played at the old spectrum but those were old NHL rooms.
Rashy Dave Smith above probably saw some of what he says as a kid when his dad was alive. But he is now a joke with ALL the local hockey boys and an embarrassment to his mother. He's an obnoxious moron, always has been, always will be. He is not an insider and knows dck about the Comets or any other team.

You are obviously very, very, very, very passionate about this topic. More passionate than the locals because you have posted copious amounts of comments on this. It's safe to say that youl probably be attending some games at the aud next season.

no common sense, no common sense, no common sense. just change your screen name to no common sense. just because he toured a areana dosent mean they wanna move in. have you ever shopped for a house(forget it, you live in your moms basement) well we people that do shop for homes have a tendancy not to buy the first one they look at. in fact they like to check at several so that when decision time comes they know what their choices are. and by the way, if they loved the glens falls civic center so much, why did they tour the utica auditorium less than a week later??????? and why did they tell comets officials that they prefer utica??????

Sorry I have two teams in my market. The phantoms and devils. I've been to exactly one game in over ten years. Couldn't care less. Minor league hockey is just that. Minor league.
Rashy Dave sucked a cck for that ticket. Then the local Make As Wish charity donated a crane to pry him off the coach, loaded his rashy fat azzz onto a flatbed, and drove him through the circus entrance.
