Yes you are quite right ! Utica does not need a mayor to many outside intrest has taken Utica in the wrong direction. Look at the mess with hotel utica just to name a few. People continue to get rich on that deal while tax payers continue to pay. Utica needs a city manager that would run the city like a business. If I ever did come back I would push that idea to the limit! Mayor form of goverment does not work in Utica NY. Ten years after I have left you still have the same political famlies running your goverment and doing a very poor job! The only way tax payers can win in Utica is to bring a city manager on board with the right credentials to get your house in order and stop the bleeding of tax payers dollars.

I was taught never say never! Never is a very long time. lol I am retired now with a NC and NY State pension, but have several business ventures in progress at this time. I can't imagine subjecting myself to the political turmoil that one would have to be subjected to. IF I was to wake up one morning and decided that it was time that would only be to spend time in Utica to advocate a city manager taking charge. That alone would be enough to have certain groups that are now in power to want to keep me out of Utica affairs. I just don't think at this stage in my life I am up for a good political fight, but it is going to take a political fight to take your city back. Other wise nothing will change in city goverment, except more decay of your city.

lol I pick the city that after much research that had the best retirment plan in the country. Vested after five years of service also gives you 1 month of service for every sick day you do not use when you turn 55 years of age. So after rolling my 401 k and giving them ten years of service I did very well. Carolinas you can't beat it many many opportunities. Also fail to mention the city of Raleigh pays you a separation pay which is seperate from your pension until you hit the age of 62. You won't find a better retirment plan anywhere in the country. Law enforcement officers are well appreciated here.

CORRECTION 1 MONTH OF SERVICE added to every 20 days of sick time you don't use after turning 55 years of age. We have many officers from NY working on a 2nd pension, guess the secret is out now but I came on board early thanks to the political wolves of oneida co. LOL LOL

I find it interesting that you would call the Hotel Utica a mess. YOU were part of that movement with your buddy Ed Hanna.

You also say you know everyones secrets. I know a lot of secrets too, Mr. Maye. And none are favorable to you.

So stop with your bullshit sir...YOU were just if not more, dirty than what we have now.

I KNOW, I was there!!

Last comment of the day got to get back to my business of the day. Ed Hanna had no intention of the Hotel Utica not paying for itself in fact Hanna would have foreclose on that Hotel many many years ago if they tried the no payment routine with him. Hotel Utica was wise to have saved if the benifactors paid their bill! How hard is that concept you must pay your loans if you borrow money! Hanna made millions as a business man and I am sure he did not make it because he was foolish!

I worked with you when Hanna was in, you have my endorsement for mayor, you sure as hell wouldn't do any worse than anybody over the last 30 years, besides Hanna nobody really ever cared about this city and it continues to be a shithole, come back here and I will help you run for Mayor!
