Ed Flemma last night accomplished the unthinkable: unseated a well-connected Board of Education President.

The winners: Ed Flemma for one. People appreciate his easy going manner, his common sense and fairness and that he is not concerned with who is connected with whom. Other winners here are the common people of New Hartford and NH Concerned Citizens who have been pushing for candidates like Ed.

Losers:
-The New Hartford Friends and Family Plan.

-Library Board President Linda Romano and Romano's right hand man fellow Library Trustee Rich Evans. Mr. Evans's endorsement of Drew Ward gave credence to the theory that there was a Quid Pro Quo going on with Romano supporting Mr. Ward in return for his support of the School acquiring her family's village properties last year. This election shows that the Romanos are not to be feared nor is their support required during NH elections.

- School Board member Beth Soggs: Why in the world did Beth Soggs get involved with this election anyway? It violated every principle of School Board neutrality and the people saw right through it. Now she has to look Mr. Flemma in the eye during Board meetings

- Drew Ward: How do you lose as an incumbent sitting School Board President? By forgetting why you are there in the first place and by putting too much faith in the NH Friends and Family Plan, thatís how.

-The OD: Losers big time. The OD missed this story and the editors seem to be more concerned with supporting NH elites then reporting the truth. Where's the story on who owns the NH library? Case in point.

Good work?

What are you taking about?

It was a school board election. No one is going to the White House. Lets put it in perspective. And when Now that Flemma has been elected I give hi 6 months and he tells the CC of NH where to go punt. He needed support wherever he could find it. He did that and now it's time to get down to business. That warped civic group is so full of meanness they hate themselves I think. No one sticks by them once they get the ticket to the big show.

When was the last time someone with integrity came forward to run for the school board? Mr. Flemma won because he cares about the kids and wants openness and transparency of school board issues and finances. Mr. Flemma won on his own merit and it was several hundred town residents who voted him onto the school board.
By the way...use of the school's ePortal was illegal, however that is another story...soon to be unfolding!
