Part-time this, part-time that and NO Benefits. And they all pay less than $10.00/hr. And good luck trying to survive on those wages AND have to pay for health insurance from your employer if it's even offered to you to buy. It's no wonder people are resorting to selling drugs and other crimes in order to get by. This country is going to HELL and the state and federal governments just keep building more and more prisons to put people who are just trying to survive in. Dark days are ahead.

They have about 300 postings on the Turning Stone web site for just about every position. Which includes health care. The only catch is they drug test and you must have a car. Which is tough for many in this area for some reason. I work there for my second job and make great money. If you can't find a job it means one of two things. Your lazy or you do drugs. Plus, we have hundreds of jobs in this area and through out the country unfilled because people don't have the skills. In addition the trucking companies are always hiring.

Just look at "jobs" that are advertized in the paper or online.

Pretty ignorant outlook. With that mindset you are destined to max out around $10 an hour. HAVE FUN WITH THAT!

Might as well sell my house and move to Syracuse then. Because to commute to Turning Stone from Herkimer five days a week would cost quite a bit; and Turning Stone jobs don't pay all that well, either. I've already looked into working there and considered applying during the past year. Wouldn't make financial sense unless I lived alot closer to Verona. BTW-I have a two-year degree, have sent many copies of my resume out and haven't had an interview since last fall!!! And got a postcard from the employer after that last interview stating that they had decided to go with another candidate. I don't know what I am doing still living in the Mohawk Valley--there aren't many opportunities out here.

Since when is it the responsibility of anyone but you to improve your skillset or educate yourself in order to better your station in life.

There are jobs out there and people are getting them every day. The people who are getting them are the people who realize that if they want something it's up to them to work for it. No one is going to just give you a job that pays what you think you need to support the lifestyle you want. I doesn't, nor should it, work that way.

Don't worry, the government will always be there to take care of those who can't make it on their own. I am in the same boat as you. I have been mostly unemployed for the last two and a half years. My unemployment ran out six months ago and now I am getting SSD. It is very frustrating because I want to work more than anything but I can't find a job. I have applied to hundreds of jobs and been turned down from every single one. As far as this area lacking jobs goes, I can tell you that it is difficult to get a job anywhere right now. Currently, there is one job for every three people out of work in America so the grass isn't always greener if you go somewhere else.
Rather than complaining have you ever considered education or some other type of training? Is it that you are unwilling to take a job you believe is beneath you? There are all kinds of government sponsored training programs for the unemployed.

Your post is disgusting.

Obama will take care of everything...look at all the peeps on food stamps. The govt. will take care of everything. If you own any firearms, turn them all in along with all your ammo, and you are garanteed $350/month, on top of food stamps. Just turn those guns in...soldiers & cops are the only ones allowed to carry guns.

A proper education makes you marketable in any job market. Hit the books, kid.

Ps if your diploma has the words "community college" anywhere on them, you should be lucky to make $10/hr
