Glen, I was responding to someone that said nothing was going on downtown. I proved them wrong.
I never mentioned mcdonalds or burger king.
Yes,maybe some of these places are in other towns. However, Utica has had a series of positive news.
"Series of good news" LOOOOL! I think you have a collection of rosey glasses. Be smart. Get away or die miserable like most uticans. The area is a toilet and has been neglected for years. You have imbeciles in office and just keep electing them. It's a rust belt overtaxed cistern full of ignorant clowns. Deal with it. Don't sit there like an ostrich you owe it to yourself and your kids to get the hell out while you still can. Some of you aren't even barely able to recognize it. Nothing will change there just the taxes for the police nanny state until it collapses. Dear god you're gullible.

I rather wear rosy glasses then foggy glasses any day of the week. No one can deny the facts. Many buildings Harza,HSBC,GE Building and Bossert Site and where Bass Pro is going. Lacked development for years. Now something is going on extremely positive. You can
not deny the facts.

Plus, 900 jobs up at SUNYIT in Nano. 80,000 to 90,000 dollar a year jobs. Where will they live? They will be consumers in our restaurants and retail stores. Is that bad? Is that not rosy? That 1000s said would never never never happen. Well pinch yourself,it is happening. We are going in the right direction. Do we have a way to go? Yes. But,right now I love what I am seeing.

You are no different than Ceasar playing his fiddle while Rome burned. You point to one or two positive things, while ignoring a thousand and one negatibe things. If in the same time span, five buildings are renovated, but a dozen other ones are abandoned, you have fallen behind. You have to look at the entire picture, not only the parts you want to see.

Good for North Utica. Theres a good possibility that growth spurs growth outward and nearby areas so downtown is a prime spot for this movement of growth. Wish the new buisnesses all the best.

Shit bro im about 7 beers deep and even with that i still know thats bullshit. unless you mean utica texas or something lol a state that actually knows what the fuck its doing unlike the over taxed over regulated no work anti freedom shit hole state of new york.
i wish it were true i wish utica had TONS going on other than welfare but sadly thats not the case atleast till they get someone in govt that actually knows and does something and that goes for both the city of utica and the state.
if that tax free zone stuff retard cuomo keeps blabbering about comes to utica it might help idk. just as easy to move the fuck out.... Wisc bound and not looking back.

We do have problems. Most cities do. However, in the last few months we have had great news. Some of the projects that I speak of have had no development in 5,10,15 and 20 years in some cases.

This development will bring construction jobs. Sales tax revenue. Property tax revenue. Payrolls for employees. Vendor jobs to supply these places. Don't you know anything about growth. Are you saying this development is bad?

Should we say no thank you don't come because we have other problems? Your logic makes no sense.

Maybe if more people talked about our successes of the area vs. Putting the area down all the time we would get even more.

You are one of the thousand negatives things about this area. You.

Of course they are full of out of town people. That is part of the definition of a hotel. They are full of people who are on their way to somewhere else, and have no intention of spending a whole lot of time here in Utica land. The hotels are near the Thruway exit. People cruising down the Thruway on their way to Boston, NYC, and anywhere else Rt. 90 takes them need a place to rest for the night. That is why the hotels are full. It has nothing to do with Utica, it has everything to do with a thruway exit.

They pay hotel tax. The eat at our restaurants which offer sales tax and jobs. Which helps brings in money to fix other problems. Tell me understand that this helps us or are you a lost cause. Someone once said that you can't argue with stupid.
