If only you knew what you are talking about. Look around, mining industry, utility industry, contractors etc..
There have been many studies done on the safety aspect. Most of them shade toward unions being a safer place to work. Along with higher wages, better benefits, and better work hours.
So keep typing on your computer and be careful of paper cuts!!
Let the real men and women keep your lights on, the water flowing, your streets safe, battle the fires etc.
I know exactly what I'm talking about actually so you can go ahead typing away on your computer. People who result to insults on a discussion board usually equates to the uneducated about certain topics so they go right to insults. Insult me all you want if it makes you feel better but the truth is union membership declines annually and will eventually become non existent. Thank goodness.

Unions are there because many workers are too ignorant to take care of themselves.

Instead they rely on overpaid, corrupt, nepotistic snake oil salesmen who tell them what a great deal it is belonging to a union. Of course for a few bucks a week the union boss will take care of its members. They'll also take care of themselves, six figure salaries, be paid for transportation, send their kids to a private non-union schools and then university all on the working stiffs dime.

So if you are not capable of taking care of yourself please pay some crook to look out for your interests just be prepared to be lied to and pandered to as well.

All while your savior basks in the beauty of his expensive home or his second home by the lake in a gated community. If you kiss his ring and genuflect he might even not raise your dues.

Just remember he's here to help you so don't complain, pay your protection money, er, I mean dues and shut up and go home to your double wide and your baby mama.

You just bought your union leader a new Cadillac, he's off to the private club for a round of golf (on you, of course) and is looking forward to junior's coming home from the Deerfield Academy so the whole family can go to a conference (vacation) in Florida and he will expense it to the union. Did I mention his second home is in Florida?

So while you and baby mama and your encephalitic spawn shiver away in the double wide this winter just be happy that because you are in a union.

And that allows you to get in your rusty old pick up truck travel on down to Walmart and maybe splurge at Appleby's once a year.

And be thankful that you are in a union. I know your union leader is happy to have you in his union.

Hey Teo,
Some of the things you say may be true. I will gladly pay my $15 week for my $150,000 a year job, with great benes, 6 weeks vacation and all the job protection I need.

Who is the sucker!!!

union and proud,

If you make $150.000 a year and belong to a union then you are a walking example of why unions suck.

Of course you're just a trolling douche and a fantasist whom is neither a union member or some one who makes $150,000 a year.

Nice try.
