I have noticed they have been trying to get a couple new developments going in Marcy for a few years now, one on Morris road and one off Hayes road (I think it's a Buck development?). Does anyone know anyone who has bought or built there? Trying to find new construction in Marcy. I keep hearing that both developments have had problems but no one I talk to seems to have any details around why or it seems like they're nervous to say (especially when I talk to real estate agents).

I know this board has people who like to spout negative only, which is fine with me as long as it's true, but if anyone has positives I'd like to hear that too.

You should contact Joe Bravo (he owns a car dealership on Oriskany Blvd.) He may have some information for you:)
Thanks Joe

I have been looknig to buy in the next year so I keep an eye on the progress in Marcy. My boss built a new home on Morris road and they were pretty pleased with the construction but it took a lot longer to finish the house then what they were told. Thye have a bigger lot so there is distance between their house and the neighbors. THe only thing they don't like as much as that it's a faster road and they said they wished they had thought more about that with three kids.

the Buck development I think you mean Buckland is nice because the roads are smaller and there is less traffic. I have a cousin who lives there and the houses are going up faster now then they were in the beginning because they changed builders. It's a nice area as far as the view and the houses are nice but closer together. I have heard that it depends where on the street you live if it is nice or not because some of the neighbors are a bit nosey and bossy.

i have a friend who looked in both and she and her husband ended up buying a home that was a few years old on Shelly drive because they didn't want to have to do all the outside work that comes with new construction. So far they are pretty happy with it but i guess some neighbors got upset because they want to put up a privacy fence. that was their only complaint that there was not enough privacy.

ask the majkas or joe bravo they are the ones that get what they want in marcy and ruin the land in the mean time alot of backroom deals go on in marcy to get these scumbags developments and apartments up, if you want a quality built house stay away from majkas and brovos half assed deals

do yourself a favor and stay away from all the developments and builders in marcy because as its already been stated said builders have the town board and the codes enforcement in theyre pockets anyone that lives in marcy knows this is true as sad as it is.....thats our local government and tax money at work !

this will stay at the top until everyone knows the truth, maybe the people on shelly drive and elsewhere should talk about the flooded basements and other slew of problems they have had

Flooded basements? Ours is finished and never had any water problems. Marcy is top notch compared to the town we use to live in.. My 2 cents.

Thanks to those of you (I think only two people posted who were not this person from Rome who is talking to themselves using different names, ranting about an unrelated topic) who posted helpful comments that contained some info. I grew up in Marcy and moved out of state for several years. I'm back in the area and looking to move back, so this info is helpful. Above all things I'm definitely not interested in moving near "nosy" or "bossy" neighbors, so if the info about the Buck development is true I'd rather steer clear.

I live on Shelly Dr and I have no complaints about the neighborhood at all but I live at the bottom so our area is a little older. I think it gets a little worse at the top where the neighbors are concerned - sadly a few drug problems but nice people all together. My buddy lives on Buckland and has a very nice house.

Who cares as long as the houses are built well? No one who is going to buy one of their houses cares what the bucks do with their spare time. BEfore you spout your garbage you should include how it's relevant to the topic if it isn't its not worth saying.

seriously frank? please dont tell me you are that effing stupid, would you put your family in a house that a druggie built or wired? or let a mechanic put brakes in your car if he was on drugs or drunk? or let a pedophile babysit for you because what they do with there free time has nothing to do with you, wow you are one dumb motherhumper....you arent freinds with the bucks are you?, no cant be

Why don't you contact someone with the Town of Marcy. Get the info from the horse's mouth so to speak. Tim Russell is the building inspector and issues the building permits. He would know more than any realtor. I've lived in Marcy over 40 years and when I want info I call the appropriate person.

I know of someone who built there. Said it was a nightmare and they had to have a lot of work redone.

do NOT build in Buckland. my aunt lives on Hayes road behind Buckland drive and there are a lot of problems with the people who live there. one buyer backed out because when they were driving thru the neighborhood to show his mom the house one of the guys who lives on the street flagged him down and said he was driving too fast and asked why he was driving on the road and wanted to know what he was doing there like it was a private street which its not. another person sold there house because the people on the street were causing problems and they cause fights with my aunt and cousins who have been living on Hayes road for 25 years all the time. bad news all around.
