I just did a search for Charlestown mall in Utica NY and it said it is closed. I have also been trying to do research for Riverside Mall and it appears that one is closed to. I am from out of town and just looking for an answer. Could someone please help me with this question?

The next town over, New Hartford has the Sangertown Mall or Sangertown Square. Hope this helps.

Charlestown closed c. 1984-86. Riverside is open but no longer an indoor venue, it's more like a strip mall of big box stores and a mix of good smaller stores, perhaps eight. There's a Wallymart there also. In 1976 Sangertown Swuare Mall was built, it's still open but in decline.

Ian, I have to say, you can't answer a question about this area without giving it a little jab. The person asked if there were any malls in the area period. Yes, Sangertown Square. She didn't ask if is in decline or if it was growing. To be honest, it's kept it's 4 major stores for quite some time. Yes, smaller stores change from time to time but it's still a place for people to shop. It's clean and there are a wide variety of stores. I'm sorry your experience here wasn't to your liking and you had to leave but we really don't need you to keep adding your insults. It's pathetic that you dislike our area so much yet you can't stop talking about it. Go on downstate topix and talk to your upscale friends on there. Something tells me you don't have many friends. You are a very bitter person. Good luck to you in Dreamland, NY.

You seem to be the bitter one here, here's why: I stated "Charlestown closed c. 1984-86." to clarify their earlier post about Charlestown. Not a jab, just a clarification. "Riverside is open but no longer an indoor venue, it's more like a strip mall of big box stores and a mix of good smaller stores, perhaps eight. There's a Wallymart there also." Again, just pure information, nothing negative intended and in fact nothing negative about it. If "strip mall" sounded like an insult or slight, your skin is cellophane thin. I see straight through you. "In 1976 Sangertown Swuare Mall was built, it's still open but in decline." Again a fact, no slight intended. Can't handle facts too well can you Mr. Rosey Glass. Or are you Mr. Ostrich.. with your head in the sand? Regarding my supposed "lack of friends"? Seriously asshole, who's being bitter here? Dang! If you had any sense you'd just troll one of my posts where I actually was posting something "negative" idiot. But your eyes are bugging out methinks.. you couldn't help it. Do me a favor.. go commit suicide by blunt force head trauma and stop bellering at people who really don't care what you "champions of the superior greatness that is Utica". IOW: I won't delay you in your search for someone who cares. Move along gnat, nothing to miscomprehend here!

This area is terrible. Sad people get excited over an Olive Garden when there are so many good italian restaurants already and we have the biggest 15k in the country. There is still nothing to do??
