They may be considering someone but when I talked to Lou Lapolla last week he didn't know anything about it and also said nobody had been approved by the board yet. Just speculation at this point.

What about Assalta? He has NFL coaching expierience. He should be able to handle high school. Or what about Bob Casullo? He is from the valley (Little Falls?) and I think he moved back there after leaving SU. Maybe he would be interested. I think before coaching at SU under Mcpherson he was head coach of Henninger or Liverpool.

Assalta is happy coaching JV. I'm sure he does not want the extra work involved in coaching varsity. He is happy doing what he's doing until retiring in a few years. Casulla could find a hundred coaching jobs that would pay him more than coaching at Proctor. There are a lot of small colleges that would love to have a coach with D1 college experience.

With the ucsd cash strapped, there is no way they can hire somebody from outside this area because they can't offer a job. That leaves few options. It's gonna have to be an area guy with a job or someone who already teaches in the district.
Did they already have an application process?? If so, who applied?
This already reeks of Utica grease-ball politics 101.

Maybe they should just eliminate the program. The football program suks anyways. They never could compete with Syracuse.

Assaulta is happy for sure! He is a bum and could care less about them kids. He is 0 and 24 on the JV level. Let's not forget he was the head coach in the early 90's and they didn't win a game then either.. You people are so stupid you shouldn't comment anymore you obviously don't have a clue the kind of coach Proctor needs.. They sure don't need another system soaking racist idiot at the wheel..

They have 2 former SU players right here in utica..abraham and santiago. Get these guys to take over the program and leave them alone. Fire everyone and let these guys put their people in place and the program will work. Asselta is the first guy that needs to go. He lost when he was head of varsity and he loses at jv

Why you guys cutting up abraham and santiago. Two guys from utica who played division 1 football ? Abraham would be a great HC for proctor. I'm sure santiago would also be a big help.

The board will drag this hiring out until late spring or mid summer and by then the 2014 season will be a waste. The right thing to do would be to hire someone by February so the head coach can get his people installed and start a conditioning program.

Correct. There is a battle going on as we speak. The school board and admin are attempting to hire a guy w zero football coaching experience... Take a guess, his name ends in a vowel. Same old Utica BS

If proctor hires some coach with no head coach experience it will just show that they don't care about football. Wouldnt surprise me one bit
