Last night I was bored and decided to go watch Notre Dame & New Hartford play. I have to say to the school how pathetic the administration must be. This program won a sectional 3 championship last year granted they lost seven seniors and are in a rebiulding process. I watched a very talented young team look like the bad news bears. The coaching was just horrific! I herd that Proctor ex softball coach applied for the job as well a Byron Abraham how did a guy that is not qualified to coach T-ball get this position? They had to make 15 errors in the six innings I could bear to watch. I felt very bad for ND pitcher as she could not get out of a inning due to the mistakes and coaching. There is always a thread on topix about ND and I am a huge supporter of this school and always defend them. But this time I have to be on the other side. I am glad I have no children in this sofball program I would remove them with that coaching they are learning nothing.

Well I would have to agree with this topic. The guy who coaches this team does not even have the basic decision making skills required at a little league level. How can a school allow this type of guidance to rebiuld a program. There are girls out of position everywere, and also seniors in the line up that do nothing but strike out and make most of the errors. They have three very athletic 9th graders that should be playinG. My prediction is ND softball will fold after this year due to lack of girls that want to come out and play. As for the parents that have a kid on this team unfortunatly you will have to wait for summer or go pay a arm and a leg for lessons because your kids are learning absolutly natta.............

I am a parent from of a kid who played two five years ago. Notre Dame has a history of doing this. The only reason they did well last year is because the team was loaded with seniors and had a ton of talent. John Perry was not a good coack either. As a matter a fact I beleive alot of this is his fault there are some talented girls that refuse to come out and play because of there bad experiences with John Perry. He did nothing to prepare this team for the future it was all about his daughter. I herd he got slapped around by a father for mistreating his daughter last year. So you see it has been turmoil for a while just now it is showing.

You are right about the boys BB ball. The girls are going to be great for the next three years though. That team got moved up to the B'S this coming year. They lost two seniors that really held this team back from there full potential.

You people are pathetic!! These are young kids we are talking about! To all you people who have responded to this topic and sounded like an ass, are your kids in the major leagues or about to be there??? NO!! Most of you have kids who are not that good and you try to think they are because you want them to do what you couldn`t do when you were growing up! And that is to make it in sports and be successful! I watch alot of sporting events in the area, and i`ve never seen such a-holes like i have seen lately. This past year i saw a girls basketball team celebrate beacause they came in 2nd place in a tourney and heard a father from the 1st place team say `wow, you`d think they won the whole thing`! Wow...Time to get a grip on life people!!

My daughter plays on this very team. I would be lying to you if I came up here and said I like what I see. I think a much better job can be done with these girls and yes there are girls on the bench that should play over the older girls for sure. What I dont like is how they have a person keeping the book that really didnt retain much about the game in her younger years. Example yesterday I watched a pitching dual and ND did not hit the ball to well there was five errors that I counted and the paper says two. On a average this team is making ten errors a game and that really is low balling it. They need fundementals! They also need a wake up call there are seniors laughing when they strike out with bases loaded top of the seventh down by three. There are kids happy with loosing all the time this type of attitude spells disaster. A structured envirment is what they need they need to know that the best will play and loosing is ok but we play the game to win all sport teams play to win. On a positive note there is some very god young talent on that team and based off from what I see the coach is learning and is a great guy. I am a beleiver in this team give them time let them take there lumps this year, it will change the talent will eventually over come adversity with maturity.

Thats the problem with ND sports...its all cut throat...all about me and the rich parents kid and not whats best for the team. They are spoiled brats at that school and it shows.

I dont agree with that at all sorry. There are lots of people at ND that dont come from money. In general ND has great coaches in all there boy sports. Something tells me they have someone in power that dont see girls sports as a priority. Girls basketball now has a very good young coach in Plonish now all the rest should follow suit. The problem is the AD should do all the hiring and firing of all coaches in all sports. The pricipal(SISTER ANNA MAE) should have no opinion or control on who is hired and in this instance sghe is the one to blame for sure. The assistant princibal Roy Kane is a great guy and very sports minded he was at the game the other night supporting these girls every second of the way, but I also can see it in his face on what a huge mistake he made.

This is for all of the people who have posted here speculating about will happen next year. Back in September '09 we heard all of the same things about the ND football team. We heard how they shouldn't even take the field because they only had 19 or 20 kids and that they would be no good. It turned out a little different then that though didn't it?
I don't know anything about the girl's softball team but don't count ND out accross the board.

I also agree with the previous poster, there is a problem with the AD.

i have seen several games this season. I dont know how good the girls are on the bench. I do no that the girls in the field have trouble making basic plays. Just a lot of mistakes. The coach seems a bit dazed. no fire at all. The pitcher seems pretty good but they are forced to make what equates to 6-8 outs an inning. Hopefully this group gets together and starts to play.

I agree 100%. The pitcher is pitching to a extra 15 batters a game that spells disaster. I am hearing that there is a big girl named ANNA that sits the bench rumor has it she is the best hitter on that team. Last night bases loaded top of the seventh no outs down 3 to 0. The coach allows the first two batters to bat who struck out there first three times up. Actually one of the girls is a captian and strikes out 95 percent of the time. Give the girls a chance to play there are three girls on that bench that might have pulled that win out and then your the coach of the year and everyone gets some time and everyone is happy. END RESULT A TEAM THAT WILL GEL AND BECOME BETTER.

delaney buckley is the best hitter on the team! she has very good hands. probably the best i've seen in this area. trouble is, the coach knows nothing on making adjustments and getting kids to be successful. sorry tom, you're over your head. ND administration made a huge mistake! john perry did kill that program for his daughter who quit the lemoyne team because she had to run! i heard she can down a large pizza herself!

Some of you people should be ashamed of yourself. How sad that some of the ND players will see these very ignorant posts. I am at every game and have never seen a senior or any other play laugh when they strike out. How ignorant to say that they are happy to lose. My daughter and all of the other players put many hours a week into softball, therefore, losing is not enjoyable to them. The seniors are not the only players making errors. Everyone makes errors and not because they want to. Some of these statements maybe coming from bitter people that are either upset that child does not play much or the coaching position did not go to who they wanted it to so they feel the need to condem. There are not many other spectators at these games other than parents of the players. A couple of these parents are very vocal of the errors being made by other players other than their child. When their child makes an error, which everyone does, it is someone else's fault. Let's give them encouragement instead of negative remarks. Can't believe parents of ND players would post some of these remarks about the girls, you should be ashamed of yourselfs!!!!

Most of you on this post who are complaining against the coach are parents or relatives of those kids who are not playing..Believe me, i used to play through high school and through college, and from what i am hearing i know when parents are frustrated when their kids aren`t playing. This topix is a good chance for those parents whose kids who are not seeing time to bitch and complain about coaches and other players that are interfering with their major league all stars! Give it a break...It`s not the coach!! It`s you!!! If your kid is not that good, so be it.If she/he is that good she will shine no matter who is coaching....Let it be. But don`t start saying that the coach is the fault for my kid not playing alot!

So in other words we are blaming the parents. As far as I can see and I am on the outside looking in a parent has every right to complain about the kids play or atmoshere on a team. You have to understand there actualy are people who take there sports serious as a family there is nothing wrong with that. What really needs to stay away from high school sports is that AYSO SOCCOR mentality it is ruining ale sports. You know the phrase there only kids and everyone makes mistakes oh and its ok to loose. I would be willing to bet that the parents that are complaining are not the parents who have kids on the bench but the parents who have a athlete on the field. I know if I was in this situation based off of the money that people pay to go to ND they deserve a cats ass coach.
