Don't you think every AHL city pays a certain amount of tax dollars for their teams to play there? If you thought we were gonna get this team for free you're nuts. All in all, the team should help our local economy and our quality of life. If those are bad things then lets not have a team here.

Why should the taxpayers subsidize a private business?

All in all, the team should help our local economy and our quality of life. If those are bad things then lets not have a team here.

Given that we can't even afford basic services locally I'm not really clear on why we would pay for a hockey team. In terms of cost/benefit there are far better ways to spend our money.

I agree, this may not benefit everyone but we need a good shot in the rear here in Utica. You may not want to benefit from this idea but there's a chance that it may be one piece in a big puzzle that revitalizes the area. I agree that there are other places our tax dollars can go but if this is a success, other areas of concern can be dealt with as well. We've got to start taking chances around here or we're just gonna be stuck in the mud. BRING ON THE AHL!
