A Bosnian or Russian lady purchased over $100 worth of Easter chocolate that was discounted 75% off with food stamps. I found it strange that a poor person needs so much chocolate. It was literally a cart full of Easter chocolate and candy. Why would a person need so much candy?

because she can and unless you start making calls and have family member made calls nothing will change, Remember the money they buy food with is working people tax money.

Shes probably got medicaid for when her teeth rot and she develops diabetes, so if you are concerned about her well being, you can relax, that bill will be covered by taxpayers as well.

In case you haven't noticed people on public support aren't the sharpest knives in the drawer.

I'm thinking she is selling it at her store or something? I've seen food stampers buy $200 worth or Pepsi when it's on sale. They will resell it to corner stores for cash. That's the problem with welfare people. Rent, medical, and food are all taken care of so they need to come up with creative ways to acquire cash. You can bet she was up to something buying that much easter candy.

I am not defending the purchase in any way. But... imagine if she bought the candy with no discount ? Kind of like seeing someone buying snacks ect. and using coupons. This person is few between as atleast she bought it half price.(as that is what Wal-Mart reduces their holiday candy to)

Guess in reality she saved us $100 in wasted money.

I've been known to go a little crazy buying up the cadbury mini eggs and russell stover dark chocolate whipped raspberry eggs. You can only get the cadbury eggs at christmas and easter and the russell stover at easter (I've never found them any other time of year anyway). I probably bought 30 after easter one year, stick em in the fridge and have yummy treats for a couple of months.

You could probably melt them down and make a killing on the pastry market.

They wrap heroin inside chocolates for shipment. Throws off the dogs. Old trick. Next time, jot down their license plate and post it.

Too bad they can't apply that cleverness to something legitimate. Maybe that's not as exciting. Oh well......

I know several people who work in social service type jobs, some who make quite good money, who can't wait until the first of the month. I swear this is true! They give their "clients, consumers, etc." 50 cents on the dollar, the recipient gives them the card and their PIN # and there you go, recipients receive cash for whatever isn't covered by food stamps and the workers get to buy their food at a discount all month. I've met people who do this with multiple clients and fill their freezers. I'm sure someone is going to reply to my post defending this behavior. Personally, I don't make that much money, and would rather starve than do this. You never know. The card might not even have been hers. You wanna talk about Price Chopping!

I've bought food stamps a couple times. I make sure to pay the person AFTER I check out. Just remember to never give cash up front. Rookie mistake.

Even welfare scum are thrifty shoppers. I like it when they buy meat then sell @ 1/2 price so they can buy crack.Summers coming and I'll be firing up my BBQ.

to send it to her family in Bosnia or Russia, or she has a husband in prison and wants to send him a care package (him and all his buddies). Perhaps she will be using it for treats for her children for the next couple of months. Who knows, bottom line is if you can spend 100 on chocolate then you don't need foodstamps. Done.

They need to do away with these welfare programs! I have made the mistake in going to the store on the first of the month. Looks like a zoo with all the apes running around with full carts of junk!
