Come on New Hartford Taxpayers, its time to bail out failed developer Larry Adler again. Support the rezoning so we can have more cheap retail stores.

We need more cash register jobs, yeah that will grow New Hartford and keep our young people here after college.

Meanwhile, drive around the village of New Hartford, Town councilman Dave Reylonds backyard and see the cracked streets. Larry though will get what he wants while town residents go without.

Why are we bailing out Larry Adler when our roads are crumbling?

How are you bailing him out. If the re-zoning goes through there will be more retail spaces and restaurants. It might keep people spending locally instead of going to Syracuse. Also it's gonna put money on the tax rolls. I'm just confused on how that is bailing him out. Also why is he a failure. I don't know the guy but it seems like he has done well with his developments.

He has done very well for this community. He is a huge developer (Cameron Group) and does mega developments all over the country. He has done over 250 million in developments right in this area. Thats OVER 250 MILLION DOLLARS into the community in construction, not including the monies from the business he has brought to town... Kohls, Gander, The Hartford (got them to stay), just to name a few....This is not a bail out, but a request for expansion that should be granted

The village and town roads are managed by different municipalities. Learn WTF you are talking about. IF the village streets are bad its up to the village to repair. And on that note the village looks great. Go back to corn-hill and cook some ramen.

It's probably also time to get rid of the Village Govt while you're talking about it. Is there any need anymore?

We are bailing him out becuse we are giving him tax breaks and Payment in Leiu Of Taxes agreements. We are building roads for him when our town's roads are failling apart. His so called business park is failing because it cannot attract any businesses to build in it. So now he is looking for a rezone to help build more restaurants and retail stores while empty store fronts are all over town. We the taxpayers will pay for the new roads and police and fire service of his business park. All we get in return are low paying entry level jobs. Larry's park should stand on its own and NOT get help from taxpayers!!

Larry Adler has screwed over the town for personal profit at every turn. He could care less about New Hartford (he lives in Clinton). Whatever urban sprawl he's created, it's solely for his own profit. And NH town supervisor is in his pocket.

I wonder how much sales tax revenue those stores at the Orchard generate not to mention how much Oneida County will collect in hotel tax for that new place in the NH business park? Hmmm lets see, would you rather stay in downtown yootica or the tranquil town of NH?

I don't care if a developer is from Timbuktu as long as they make things happen in an area that stagnates most of the time. Jealous fools!

First, based on PILOT deals and the cost of fire, police protection, I don't think that the revenues those stores generate is anywhere near what you think. Oh wait, you're NYS T&F, you must know.
Second, you ignore my other concern-urban sprawl. There are vacant storefronts all over New Hartford. Other than negotiating sweetheart deals for himself, why continue to break new ground and let the other properties go to waste? Finally, Adler first got a break on the land and agreed to the zoning at that time. Now, he wants to rezone (with NH supervisor's blessing even though he has been quoted as opposing further town infrastructure)and allow more restaurants in an area already saturated with chain franchises. There's only so much consumer cash; more choices only means more slices of the same pie. But Larry will benefit, and Mike will too. Jealous? No, I frequent locally owned businesses, and I can and will simply choose to stay away. Furthermore, just what does Adler have that I should be jealous of? Certainly not friendships or reputation. A fool? I think not; the fools are people such as yourself who value short term profit over long term planning and development.

1st Question(I've got more later)

Where are all these vacant storefronts besides the old run-down energy inefficient Pricechopper next to Kmart and the NO-access former Pharmhouse?

Where are the vacant properties??? You don't live in New Hartford, do you... Drve up and down commercial Drive starting with the old Kmmart Plaza. Then check out the dump in the village that was the cemant plant that New Hartford taxed into oblivion. Next, stop by and see the empty store fronts in the NH village shopping center. Oh wait... we DO have an Olies trashy bargin store. WOW.

Next go on 8 south and stop by all of the empty store fronts in the Washington Mills shopping plaza.

The bottom line is that New Hartford has an over capacity in retail space. Why do we need to help out Larry "Panhadler" Adler build more?

Agree 100%

Bailing out a PRIVATE developer is NOT the responsibility of local taxpayers!!

All OLD dilapidated buildings that should've been torn down years ago and you're calling Carperelli's a STOREFRONT? FAIL! I'd bet if a developer took an interest in the OLD concrete plant you'd be the first to start crybabying about ALL THAT TRAFFIC - WAH WAH WAH

Again you're a fool and a perfect fit for a place like Waterville or maybe yootica! I'm done with you moron, no debate here.

Do you even live in the village?
Friggin Troll.

Village of NH is consistently in the black year after year. Houses for sale in the village sell before the sign is firmly planted out front by a Realtor.

I think the village residents will agree there is a need for the village. Time for oyu to go play in the street.

Beg your pardon. Police are already out and in force and the fire is volunteer.
