Look at the headline thread "DRUNKSHACK"? Then look at his FRY SHACK? I never heard the word "shack" incorporated in any restaurant speaking, this guy uses it often is my guess. This Smokey guy started this thread trying to destroy Stockdales like a little kid. Then he comes on here saying about how a friend told him about this thread. Be for real. He started this thread and it should be noted that any restaurant that hires this guy and doesn't KISS his ass will be blasted here on topix. This thread needs to be deleted immediately. What are you talking about? I just had the honor of meeting Andrea at her bar/restaurant. I was super impressed by how clean the bar area, restaurant area and kitchen was. Anyone who says or thinks its a "BUGSHACK", needs their head examined. I don't know Andrea but she was very smart and seems like a great lady! Whom ever started this thread is wrong 100%. Obviously had to see first hand for myself the situation. He states one saute pan, don't know for sure wasn't looking for them but seen the menu and it doesn't call for any saute dishes, so what was the problem? Bottom line is that Stockdales is super clean, restaurant area looks very very nice, kitchen area decent size for size of seating capacity. Bottom line is when they hire a good chef that place will be a must go to place for drinks, lunch and dinner. Anyone who bad mouths this place is obviously jealous. Alot was put into Stockdales , and they did a super great job imo. Now you must say I am a friend or something, but hey I didn't even know what Andrea looked like till today. Speaking to her I was very impressed, very smart business lady!

i dont think this place will last too long but i was there this week and it was ok but i imagine it will be fun while its here, and yes i think everyone in oriskany has noticed how the cops dont mess with all the drunk drivers like they did when everyone else owned it but thats how things work, when you play childish high school games,its not who you know but who you blow! and i imagine dean did had first grabs at the place before anyone else had a fair oppurtunity to do the same

AGAIN JEALOUSY sucks doesn't it? What difference does it make that cops don't bother drunks or they do bother them. I guess every bar/restaurant in the world should have a cop watchout so they pull over every patron leaving. It is a restaurant too, so not everyone will be going there to get drunk. That town should be GLAD Andrea did what she did to that place as it has a great atmosphere inside, no way near any town bar atmosphere. Kudos to Andrea for what she has done. Hey patron2 what will you say next when in a few weeks Stockdales is the busiest place in town?

The building came up for auction in August of 2011. Everyone had a fair opportunity to have "grabs" at the building. Maybe Patron2 you should do your research first and go down to the county office building and check it out before blasting people that have nothing to do with the situation. If you really wanted it, you should have been at the auction. Sounds like you have some bitterness for some people in Oriskany.

i think its a average place at best i was there last week and the beers a little pricey and my damn roll for my burger was stail but its just a typical MV establishment its ok i guess but nothing to write home about

Went to Stockdale's Friday for drinks with friends after work. Cute place, better than what was there before. Beers were cold and prices were no different than bars on Varick st or chain restaurants. Didn't get anything to eat, but did see a plate of wings that looked great! I would go back, great atmosphere. Nice to have a place around where we work.

what's the deal on confronting customers about serving their underage child when the 'child' was 21? And banning the people when your staff screwed up? THAT's why I wouldn't go there. And how could you do such a thing when it's your responsibility to check IDs. TOTALLY unprofessional and ignorant.

Tried Stockdales for the first time Saturday afternoon. The staff was friendly,the sandwich was great,the fries were crisp and delicious. And a glass of Rare Vos from the tap for a fiver was just what I needed. I will return soon. Had to bring my own ants.

I got pulled over by an Oriskany cop when I lived there (not Callahan). I was walking on Miller Street on a snowy night. He said, "Where are you going?" I said home. He said, "Where do you live?" I said, "New York."
I wasn't lying.
Someone here is. Terrible stuff to read from Oriskany. This is something that people in the big city do, attack each other like too many rats in a cage.
Please remember the real Battle of Oriskany.
I guess I'll just have to have lunch at Stockdale's.
Looking forward to it.

I didn't like watching the cooks outside smoking and then going directly into the kitchen. From what I saw neither washed their hands:-( yuck!

Unfortunately this happens in most restaurants. How about having cooks cooking your food in a hot kitchen sweating directly into your food? Or waitresses picking food off and eating off your plate before it leaves the kitchen? The best is when a waitress carries your food out on a tray above her shoulder and her hair is directly on your food before she shrugs it off. These things happen everyday in every restaurant!
