Had the opportunity recently to try a new Pub in Oriskany called Stockdales. The decor inside made a good first impression..it was down hill from there..Not impressed at all..It was very difficult to enjoy lunch with my fiance, when only 10 feet from our table in the "Dining Room" 20 loud, drunk, patrons, are screaming and yelling...dropping F Bombs. Its 3pm on a Thursday and The drunks in Oriskany are consuming their liquid lunch. Ok..food was not good...fries were greasy, not crisp, Burger was over done..lets see Medium should have some pink ...right? When I told the lady behind the bar my burger was over done , she rolled her eyes and asked me what I want her to do about it....Nothing bitch!! I will never spend a dime in this shit hole.. As I was counting up the bill, to top off a memoriable meal..a large black ant was crawling accrossed the floor...Guess Stockdales makes 69 Steakhouse look like a 5 star Bistro!!!3 Thumbs Down...

I eat lunch there at least once a week . I have never had a bad meal or left there hungry . Also the prices are fair for what you get.

its sad to say but that place will never make it here in this town they should have opened it in clinton or new hartford and they would have been fine, but dean burth had to stick his nose into it like every stupid little real estate deal in this one horse town and besides im sure ol dean had it set up so he got the place before anyone else had a fighting chance to get it, dont worry people it will be empty next year this time! sad but true

Its sad how you can anonymously attack a new eatery. I myself have checked the place out and its nice. The owners are friendly and the prices are good for what you get. No wonder all of the businesses in cny fail its bc of random slander that someone who can't even say their name has to put on the internet. The old "cook" walked out because he couldn't handle his job. Its a lot different working on a line verses selling pre-made sandwiches off a cart to people who are in a drunken stupor. It is what it is.

the owners are great people, trying to do something for the area. before you go out making libelous comments, know what you are talking about. they put a lot of hard work into the place. the hospitality business is a hard and brutal one. give em a break.

WTF??? I didn't even know this website existed!!...my buddy just text me about this thread, and I have been reading this and other threads for about an hour and a half..For the record, I was the cook at Stockdales. But, I didn't quit because I couldn't handle my job. I quit because I couldn't handle the constant verbal abuse from my employers (accept Jeff who was always pleasant and professional) and the fact that I was Prep Cook, Fry Cook, Head Cook, Busser, Dish washer, etc... working 60+ hrs a week but only getting paid for 40. I was promised that additional help would be hired as well as receiving a % of the kitchen sales. None of that came to fruition. I quit because I was denied the very basic in kitchen equipment (not to mention equipment in working order), some of which I had to bring in myself. I quit because most input I had in regards to the menu was overruled. A simple example would be that I felt very awkward promoting CAB (Certified Angus Beef) on the menu, for our burgers when we were NOT using Angus. I regret quitting only because I still feel that the village of Oriskany needs a good eatery/watering hole and Stockdales is a great location. I am a very hard worker, have a passion for cooking and do not just quit things on a whim....@ CNY Chef- as for working on "a line" i have worked on a line..and there was ALWAYS more than one person. I assume that u are cooking there now. Good luck to you. I guess everything happens for a reason and I wish Stockdales all the success in the future.

I don't work there I'm a chef for a catering company I just hate seeing ppl trash a small business. I heard you walked out on a sat night with 12 ppl waiting for their food. I understand there might have been issues but you just don't do that no matter what the circumstances may be
