Although I have direct deposit, I got my pay stub in the mail. A postage stamp costs forty nine cents. Forty nice cents times approximately 1500 employees is $735. Multiply that by 26 pay periods and it is almost 20K a year. It would be cheaper to get a temp to sort the checks. With decision making like this it is no wonder RCIL is losing money by the day.

Thank you for the supportive comments. You have a very good suggestion but we would need more than the 5 people who have come forward to brainstorm. There are many more but fear seems to be keeping them from stepping forward, although I do understand. Hopefully more will come forward when their last straw has been reached, everyone has a breaking point. Until then we will wait and see.

You all have no idea the injustices that go on at this agency. Upper management is indifferent to employee concerns, safety is becoming an issue, bullying worse than high school, everyone is scared to speak, morale? What a joke. 4 or 5 people rule the roost, Joann please help us, job should have been yours.

Joann needs to guard her own job. Once the cheese has totally picked her brains, she will find a reason to dump her. Joann didn't even help her buddy the former director of employment to keep her job. Why would she bother with us?

She has earned her position and her job. Joann is dedicated and consistent. Board members should be ashamed, what a huge mistake, loyalty? No board participation or interest, ok front desk? Yeah they really care, bobby is great Donna g got employee of the year? Really?????? She could care less phone rings off the hook, director of operations is rude and obnoxious to a major local donor, no repercussions or accountability, this stinks.

Years ago, I went to Donna for help as a consumer. Even back then, she would almost NEVER return any of my calls, or if she did, it would be two weeks later. We never had an argument or any conflict. She PROMISED me she would attend a very important meeting with VESID, but when the time came, not only was she no where to be found, she was incommunicato for several days afterward. She never explained her lack of attendance or the silent treatment she gave me. As a result, I was subjected to further bullying behavior by Vesid and I parted ways with RCIL.

Joann doesn't have the educational credentials for the job. Many who work under her have better educations including some clerks and secretaries.

A few things have been said here that just keep picking people apart. So much of it totally untrue! Joann's credentials easy enough to find the answer (ask her!) I took some courses with her! Beth's situation ...strange that the two of them still hang out if Beth blames joann . Donna and rude perhaps that happened but we have all made mistakes. I regret many of mine and only hope the people I offended forgave me. What is the point quit with the high school stuff! I get that some of you have an ax to grind for whatever reason but personal attacks are not going to get is to our goal! What are YOU willing to do about the Bigger issues?? Are you members yet? Don't sit back recruit people to join we need a strong voice. We also need a voice inside RESPOND to emails if you don't agree there is no harm in speaking truth! Z attends a meeting and asks "so tell me what the problem is" who spoke out? Did all of you?? It appears as if a few people have a problem because you are getting caught up in mudslinging on here rather than speaking truth where it counts! Please focus and let your voices be heard.

Even if you feel bad about certain people its your opportunity to change or educate others how there actions/behaviors may have caused a disservice but this is not a way. Its starting to sound like you are losing focus, and hitting people below the belt. I heard accountability which is understood and a good point, but dont hurt others no matter how they may have made you feel in the past. That is not what RCIL stands for, and you want to continue to be known as a sight motivated and created for solutions! Do that and you will be listened to, bash or belittling others and you are no better! Rise above people and educate not hate!

The past is the past and we are trying to have a positive impact on the future. Yes, it is important to identify past challenges so they can be addressed in the future. However, if you are identifying problems WITHOUT coming up with solutions...then you are also part of the problem. Look, listen, learn and think...then thoughtfully and constructively participate in exacting positive change.

To "Focus people" you are absolutely correct! Enough said about past! Let's move ahead!! We need to organize ourselves and have a plan. We also need to identify a speaker for the group. None of this can move ahead without a strong number of people. This isn't a democracy work atmosphere anymore! There is hardly any input from staff if we do not agree this is the best way we need to fight for what we want! Not with slander or harshness but with pride and dignity as we do for the people we serve. Do not be afraid to speak the truth!! We always have done this we won't accept less. When we sense a stronger number of support we will know its time to move ahead! When Burt was here an email such as was sent in Friday would have had hundreds if responses not less that ten. We are great debaters and we know how to get results we do it everyday! Anyone have board members names? As advocates we are looking for systems change so let's start sharing with the decision makers, our board! Please post so we can begin to contact them collectively. Thank you

The leader needs to be someone who doesn't care about losing the job. Many workers want to fight but they have families to support. The agency can't fire everyone at one. There is safety in numbers. Each fighter need to recruit a trusted friend.

Ok it's like this last laugh...if things do not work out will we have a job? If people loose paperwork, quit supporting united way, or intentionally sabotage the way RCIL works people will loose jobs you may not like management but how about your co-worker? Our goal should be to make this situation better not hurt others! I am sorry you experienced a bad situation that should make you all the more protective of others experiencing it! RCIL has a lot of wonderful people there let's work together or we only hurt each other !!

Good luck in your job search! Hope you find one that is a good fit for you. As far as co-workers being supportive where the heck do you work? This has been the place people would love to work. If your not experiencing the care and compassion from some of the most awesome employees then please step out of your office and meet them!! This is a bump in the road and a few people have been given power and are making bad choices but together we WILL change that!! In working with consumers would we give the Advice you gave? Only if the goal was for them to loose their job! Is your unhappy, scared, etc....change will come but you have to speak about it silence means no problem. Retaliation means YOUR the problem! The only person you can trust is YOUR lawyer. HR is floating along with all management, especially the Exec. Keep your friends close and your enemies closer. Read the Des Moines Register. There is a class action suit! So DOCUMENT, RECORD and get a GOOD LAWYER
