Would anyone know if it is legal for RCIL to automatically deduct two dollars out of every paycheck for the coffee fund? I don't drink it. I tried to opt out and they said no.
If it isn't legal could we get a refund in full? It adds up over the years. It is worth checking out.

I doubt if it is legal. Look at your pay checks. It is listed under the same place as health insurance, dental, and vision. Those as well are not mandatory. Employee choice to have or not to have. This " fund" should function in the same manner.

The problem is that no one wants to be branded a troublemaker. Before you know it, goodbye low paying job.

And that is the sad part of all of this. People do fear losing their jobs, why should that be happening...

Maybe they have a learning disability. Not all jobs require good spelling.

Unfortunately, I thought this site could be productive but when I read the post that you are commenting on, I'm a bit dismayed. I hope that is is only a case of spelling and grammar challenges ( seems doubtful though) and not making a mockery of what could have been and should have been a site to share serious concerns.

Enough about a persons spelling ..is that the issue? He/she raises a good point many people are scared and need their jobs it's all they have and if they loose it end up living of the system! We have great employees here If the crap continues we are sure toose some of them. Is there a solution to be had? Has anyone approached her directly? Brown bag was an opportunity if you don't speak up your part of the problem not the solution. They can be intimidated at work don't need it here too!

Agreed, when I look at all the other Utica topix posts, they are so horrible and mean spirited. Just hoping that this can be one that generates good ideas and not used for attacks or ridiculousness.

Read the post at the top of this page. The post name is, "Welfare". Their subsequent posts are a PARODY of someone other than themselves. They are purposely mocking others. If you can't see it, you are not paying attention. Enough said.

In other words, someone is busting them on you, and it's not me. They are calling themselves,"Welfare, " and then trying to imitate someone with bad grammar, who they think is ignorant etc. Now you can get back to your discussion and BTW, I agree with you. this is a valuable medium for discussing serious concerns.

That was exactly my point, I was pretty sure it was a mockery that's why I felt compelled to remark. Didn't want to see wasteful posts, or posts that debase individuals personally. Just want to keep this as a venue to comfortably express concerns and generate ideas. Let's put to rest this previous " bump in the road" post and move forward.

Agreed. I would also like to remark that those on,"Welfare," or any type of assistance like maybe SSI or SSDI appear to have become targets for ridicule. They are viewed as the new,"Jews," and are scape goated and used as societal diversions. I will not comment any further on this, as obviously it is way off the topic at hand. I agree with your other points as well.
