Tonight's Comets game is sold out and next Fridays game is well on its way to selling out!
Not even the biggest Comets fan could have predicted such great support from our area. What a great addition to our community!

And there still will be 500 empty seats from no-shows.

Yeah that's normal for pretty much every sporting event. There will however be about 3300 fans showing their support and spending their money!

More that that. Just check out the pictures from tonight's game tomorrow. Anyone see the pictures from the game against Oklahoma City? I've seen youth hockey games at the aud draw more people.
I'm going to put this feeble attempt at an arguement to bed tonight...I'm going to count the empty seats. Based on where I just parked ths shouldn't take long...looks like it's gonna be packed.

462 no shows...maybe a little less because there were a lot of people walking around.

Oh yeah...a great game!!!!!

The problem isn't the phony attendance rate, we all KNOW they're lying they can't help it, it's that "Utican Gene" that forces them to overstate everything and claim it was first/best/richest.

The real issue is the cockfest that it looks like. In photos of that crap you can clearly see the "neanderillas" have women and girls outnumbered 200-1!
Don't they have girlfriends or is that it? The pictures simply don't lie. You can count the females on one hand. That's not "fun" to me it just shows it's for retards who like idolizing other men subconsciously and they don't seem to mind the male stink that shoots out of that hellhole like burger smell out of a McDonalds either! I guess that's how the lower-half lives!

Well seeing as though most on topix we're saying that we'd be lucky to put 1,800 in the seats, I'd say we're doing way above what ppl expected. Can't argue with that. I'd be willing to bet there were 75-100 ppl out of their seats getting beer, food, etc....

Plus the 50/50 was over 10k. 1/2 of that goes to a local charity which is another win for everyone.

Yes because the whole area literally wouldn't work if it weren't for "charity" and prison/cop jobs!

Your first statement is so absolutely true.
Every sports team in every league in the world counts attendance this way. Since the Comets have performed above everyone's expectations you're now grasping at straws to make it look like a failure, when in reality they're doing great!

First you knocked bass pro shops, that place is swamped every day, then you aim for the Comets and now that has been a success.

What's next on the list? Oh yeah have you checked out the Suny It campus?? Quad C is coming along nicely...that building is huge.

Next super-duper "smash hits" for CNY culture:

=Utica toilet-seat horseshoes.

=Biggest Septic-hole Bellyflop Competition

=Timed Lawn-Chair Fixin'

And that time-honored Central New York favorite- "Coon Pinata"!

And again I don't care what attendance is announced. It's the actual attendance that is the money maker. That building is typically half full at best. The pictures I saw from the Oklahoma game were ridiculous. ENTIRE sections were empty.
Didn't you read my post?? I counted the empty seats...not announced attendance. There were approximately 3,400 ppl in the seats. Well above what all of you were saying we would get...I believe you guys were saying we'd be lucky to get 2,000 ppl to a game.

There will always be haters of other peoples success, But the fact is that right now the UTICA COMETS are a success and are exceeding everyone's expectations.

"Success"! LMAO! And more claims of unsubstantiated "jealousy" to boot!

You retards don't know what that is if you even say that welfare subsidized hawkee in oootica is a "success" ROFLMAO!

Will the Utica Vomits be returning any of their $2.5M taxpayer funded handout since they are so "successful" and "envied"?

So let me ask the million dollar question. How do you know the comets are performing above expectations? Seriously, please let us know.
And congrats to bass pro shop. The corporate office in Missouri thanks you very much for the profit in exchange for minimum wage jobs.
And the quad c is nothing but a classroom. If you want to talk about huge check out the photo in this link. Also note it's being EXPANDED by 10 BILLION dollars. The little classroom in Marcy cost 150 million. That should hopefully put into perspective where this stuff is going in NYS. It's not going to Marcy. It's not going to Syracuse. It's not going to buffalo. It's right in the governors back yard.

My god man, you're like a left winged liberal on Sean Hannitys talk show, you pick and choose what you want to answer. I just said how all of you on Topix said we wouldn't get more than 2,000 ppl in the seats...do the math, that's well above expectations.

Secondly, it's been published that the Comets break even point is 2,400 tickets sold. If you look on AHL.com you'll see that we're averaging 3,386 tix sold per game. Again, above expectations.

Again, how do you know they're exceeding everyone's expectations? My expectations are that in a region with not a lot to do quite frankly every seat would be occupied every single game. So I guess they haven't exceeded my expectations.
Whatever man...you flop like a fish. I guarantee you were one of the posters spouting off last fall that the aud would be empty once the newness wore off.

Face it...AHL hockey is here to stay.

Quit with this arguement. There isn't a stadium in this country that wasn't built with taxpayer money...every single one...even AT&T stadium where the cowboys play. Taxpayer money built the aud and it has needed a facelift for the past 20 years...why would a private investor pay to renovate a public building. It would be like you paying to put a new roof on the apartment you rent...

Wow. Are you really dense? Let's just use AT&T stadium for an example. Was there loans given to jerry jones for construction? Yes. Is he paying them back? ABSOLUTELY. So please stop. You're looking foolish.

Omg Nono!! Are you serious....why do you do this to yourself. You're on the internet....type a few keystrokes and get your facts straight before making yourself look like a fool.

Here you go: AT&T Stadium , originally known as Cowboys Stadium, is a city-owned stadium with a retractable roof in Arlington, Texas, United States. It serves as the home of the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League.
