The biggest thing I bitch about is horrible spelling, and 35 sentence paragraphs with no capitalization or punctuation. That shows lack of education. I know that I am a shitty writer, but at least you can read it and the words are spelled correctly.
The Mohawk Valley Sucks

If you check the most popular employment websites, almost all of the local job listings require either a TWO or FOUR-YEAR degree--AND THIS IS THE SAD FACT of the employment situation in this Mohawk Valley--STILL are offering only $9,$10 or if you are lucky,$11.00 an hour to start!!! SO, to the original poster of this thread, who the HELL in this Valley is paying YOU $25.15 an hour, which comes out to a gross pay of $1,006.00 per week(at 40hrs/week) for those mathematically challenged people who have responded to this thread and gotten that simple calculation wrong. I would like to know which local company is paying you that much because I WILL be applying there! Or are you just FULL OF SHIT-like so many others posting on Topix-about that hourly rate?? Remington doesn't even start people out that high, and they are unionized. So tell us another tale, pal.

Where is it noted that this person earns $1,000 a week which would equate to $50,000 a year.
For someone making $25.25 / hour times 40 hours a week, that would equal $800 GROSS a week. By the time Income Tax deductions are made, all the various deductions for Social Security tax and your benefits, are made - a person would end up with the $475 NET as this original poster stated.
Evidently you have never worked at a good paying job and have failed to realize how much a working person pays into the system to keep all the parasites alive and this Country working!
OK let me take you back to 6th. grade math.$25 per hour @ 40 hours equals $1,000 per week, as the above posted.( Just to help you $20 @ 40 hours equals #800 ) With all the dependents she has, she surely is not paying that much in deductions. With money taken out (15%) for a IRA and health insurance ect., I with 0 dependents dont pay 50% in deductions, nobody does. Math seems to be everybodys biggest issue here. 20% deductions with all those dependents is huge. And that leaves her with $800.

You are wrong.

It's simple math.

40(hours) x $25.25 =$1010.00 (per week gross)

Net would depend how much is being taken above and beyond normal taxes for things like medical coverage and contributions to a retirement plan but without those variables a person making $25.25/hr and working 40 hours will net between $700 and $750 a week.

Lets see, post what you do during your shift to make 25 an hour, very simple. Post your job description and how you accomplish it. Then people will know if you make 25hr.

You should read my post again Heather. What that poster did was not one or two "typos". It was a consistent lack of proper punctuation and grammar from someone talking about how people in this area lack education. I wasn't being mean at all, just observant of irony of the poster. And if the context of one's post is to be "ignored" because they "don't care" about how they represent themselves on a public forum, then it must be a generation thing. As I posted, a typo or two is not an issue and that isn't what this case is. If someone is going to call someone else "undereducated", I suggest they do it "intelligently".

I think you blew your cred with a wee issue yourself. You omitted your "the" function word before your singular substantivized, or to your spellcheck's limit "substantive" adjective "irony". Assfuck.

"I wasn't being mean at all, just observant of irony of the poster."-?

How's that foot taste superficial simp? My poetic pinky toe can outwrite and outthink your desperate pompous ass any second of the the day, and you'd just wither and keel if my brother got started on your cheese ass! So get cracking on that reply I figure it will take you a couple days to knead up another rope of diarrhea like that last yellow streak there. I'm a short sleeper too so start thinking early.

The point herein, since you need it painfully explained to you... is that chickenwit retards like you inbreeds who need to puff and blow to somehow disprove something as a a primary defense mechanism really aren't worth my fucking time any more than your sanctimonious and empirically retarded goat bleats for props here.

Did you fit all that in your fuckin' pin-head Shakespear? Or should I stamp it in your forehead in colored Alphabet Blocks?

I feel your pain op. I don't see how that is a livable wages. I just did my household budget and I need to take home a minimum of $62k just to live. That's not including savings.

First of all, a person lives his/her life according to their financial means. The money you make, the better you can live.

For those in Utica that are surviving on $25,000 a year, anyone that is earning $50,000 is "rich" by their standards.

The same goes for anyone making $62,000 - you would want $124,000 to consider being "rich".

In today's economy, anyone that is employed and able to provide even basic necessities to support themselves and/or their family is very fortunate!!!!!

YOU need to look more positive at life and quit being so negative. You will find life so much more happy for yourself.
