All truth here so far.
FYI

Utica, NY

As seen on FB ...

Businesses are growing and investing in the community. We have seen more growth in the last 18 months than the last 18 years.

In addition to the announcement of NANO Utica ...
• The old Bossert’s site between Noyes and Oswego has been sold after more than 20 years and two new business are being constructed – United Auto Parts and Tracy Road Equipment.
• Utica College has expanded its Online Division to Downtown Utica in the Clark Center
• Mohawk Valley Community College is trying to create more opportunities at home by starting a student business incubator in downtown Utica.
• The Pezzolanella construction company has purchased the former HSBC and will be investing over $2 million in the next two years
• That Bass Pro Shops opened its second location in all of New York State here in Utica.
• Utica is now home to Pro Hockey again with the Utica Comets at the Utica Memorial Auditorium - this has already spurred further development in the neighborhood
• Tony’s AU Delicious will be opening in the former Cosmo Center behind the Utica Memorial Auditorium
• The Oneida County Legislature has approved $500,000 for a new parking lot at the Utica Memorial Auditorium
• Two new Hotels have been built in North Utica – the Hampton and Holiday Inn Express. The Same company is now building the Fairfield Marriott
• Moe’s and Hoopla recently opened on North Genesee St
• Development of Harbor Point will begin in the near future

I'm sorry, but that's simply not true. Even a casual perusal of the Utica metro area's GDP figures demonstrate how absurd it is.
In addition to the announcement of NANO Utica ...
Heh. How's the announcement of the Brownfield Research Institute working out? Or the Cyber Security Center? Or the Utica Film Company? Or the State Data Center? Or Quad-C, the first time they broke ground for it? You know, the facility that was supposed to be up and running last year with 500 new jobs?
• The old Bossert’s site between Noyes and Oswego has been sold after more than 20 years and two new business are being constructed – United Auto Parts and Tracy Road Equipment.
Which, together, almost make up for the loss of Hyosung's 175 jobs.
• Utica College has expanded its Online Division to Downtown Utica in the Clark Center
You mean the location of the former Utica City Center?
• Mohawk Valley Community College is trying to create more opportunities at home by starting a student business incubator in downtown Utica.
Is it anything like the business incubator at...tada...the Utica City Center? Or the one at Charlestown? Or the one run in conjunction with the Cyber Security Center? Or the one in the former Boston Store? Or the one in the former HSBC building?

With all that incubating you would think something would have hatched by now.
• The Pezzolanella construction company has purchased the former HSBC and will be investing over $2 million in the next two years
The GroWest scandal Pezzolanella construction company? The one somehow planning to build a bar within the Liquor Authority's exclusion zone around a church?
• That Bass Pro Shops opened its second location in all of New York State here in Utica.
A project that succeeded because, thankfully, the area's politicians had nothing to do with it.
• Utica is now home to Pro Hockey again with the Utica Comets at the Utica Memorial Auditorium - this has already spurred further development in the neighborhood
• Tony’s AU Delicious will be opening in the former Cosmo Center behind the Utica Memorial Auditorium
All at the bargain price of $5.5 million in taxpayer subsidies, not counting ongoing payments from the Auditorium Authority.
• Two new Hotels have been built in North Utica – the Hampton and Holiday Inn Express. The Same company is now building the Fairfield Marriott
And yet, somehow, the city of Utica's taxpayers are still paying the mortgage for the Hotel Utica. An operation that can't seem to pay it's taxes on time or make a profit.
• Moe’s and Hoopla recently opened on North Genesee St
And Tony Sparagna's, Friendly's, Grimaldi's, Thuy's, Tomas Deli, etc., closed.
• Development of Harbor Point will begin in the near future
And the discharge of raw sewage into Harbor Point is scheduled to continue until at least 2024. And the city is getting ready to spend *millions* developing it.

Seriously, you can't make this stuff up. Nobody would believe it.

This is awesome!!

Please some other government lackey post the "accomplishments" and the "economic growth" we have had, are currently, or soon will be experiencing. It's great when we get all this crap about turning the corner on our problems by these fake and delusional cheerleaders.

Keep electing the same clowns and award the same political hacks supporting this corrupt political machine. Just remember that nothing gets better until they're out of office.

and I also forgot to mention:
. Hooters to open in Sangertown
. Papa John coming to NY Mills
. New Voss's to be built in N Utica
. Golden Corral coming to Utica
. Bon Jovi moving to Utica
. New riverboat casino approved for Harbor Point
. Dinosaur BBQ to open in N Utica
. Skippy Peanut Butter to open factory in Utica.
. Christmas Tree store to open at Riverside Center
. Apple Store coming to Sangertown

All these new openings (which I read about on TOPIX last year) will make Utica the pride of Central NY and will keep all our young people from moving away.

no jail time for Roefaro wrote:
A lot of Mayors have went to jail for mismanaging taxpayers money. They went to jail for stealing a lot less than Roefaro. He looted and spent 12 million dollars of the water board reserve funds, raised taxes over 50%, and according to Palmeiri he left over an 8 million dollar debt which added to the 54 million already owed. Roefaro spent and gave away millions of dollars right up to midnight and last day of his disastrous 4 years and this guy isn't in jail. Utica will never recover in most of our natural lives at least before the new comptroller and Mayor put many ore of us in foreclosure to pay for that nightmare which still haunts may of us by taking more and more money from us each year. There is simply no hoe for many of us while Roefaro enjoys the rest of his life he has ruined it for many of us still struggling the effects of his robbing, raping, and looting taxpayers funds without one thing to show for it. Then he quits and laughs in our face.
But there's a utica sign??? LOL!!!

You dumb as a box of rocks voters should have recalled this imbecilic undertaker who fed all his family and friends handsomely for four years. You have to suffer and lay in your own bed for your stupidity. Whatever happened to his babies momma.

Need you say any more. Can't believe he got away with stealing millions of dollars and nothing to show for it except the lined pockets of so many friends and family members. With foreclosures are on the rise and nobody paying schools taxes any more homeowners are in a world of hurt. Utica is hopeless after Roefaros heist and mismanagement of taxpayers funds.
Pretty much.
