No way, I use the streets for chucking my garbage and emptying my bowels.

with the eroding sewer system in this city I think these rain barrels are an absolute "think out of the box" initiative for a greener tomorrow. The sewer system on my block has been eroding for years and has needed work on it, not only from the city, but also from Shamrock out of Syracuse. How much does that cost us take payers? This is a grant, not a loan, which means if we take advantage of it we can lower our overall waterbill. I called this morning. Can't wait for my rainbarrel. The rainbarrel will allow me to water my landscaped frontyard and my vegetable garden in the back. At the same time saving some runoff into the sewer system. Great idea!

If they want something that really works get a compost barrel and start your own garden. The compost is a lot better for the soil than chemicals and it's an efficient way to get rid of green waste. Cooperative extension had them a few years back and they come with instructions and how and when to use the compost. They actually look pretty good too although they aren't front yard decoration lol
