Yes, Mr Gilroys son JP Gilroy missed four days of practice and the Coach didn't play him, so he used his influence as the head of school board to get Coach suspended
btw JP Gilroy sucks

I thought it was for leaving the star quarterback in the game to get hurt when they were up 6 touchdowns.

Of says because of ROTC . Guess what, I agree with the coach!! Not fair to the kids that do show up and practice. They missed for a good reason but they still missed

ND is a joke. They allow teachers to write papers for athletes and don't do anything when coaches buy alcohol for players but they suspend a coach for this? Abraham is a jerk but the administrators at ND are hypocrites.

The ND administration never ceases to amaze me. You have Anna Mae who is a complete laughing stock among local education administrators and you basically have a short-order cook as your head of athletics. If you are intimidated by the likes of another joker, ie Vin Gilroy, then you better close the doors. Byron, man up and quit this autopsy, you are wasting your time at that school, there is so much dead weight up there. And before you Proctor jokers jump on the bandwagon, you are no better than ND when it comes to this stuff.

So what, they were not at practice. It doesn't matter where they were. No coach would ever play a kid who misses the four days of practice before a game. and if its is mandatory, why didn't the other ROTC kids go? because they chose not to go, like my son. He chose to skip it and it won't change his grade. JP Gilroys father is a jerk who thinks his kid is good at sports, but he sucks

had nothing to do with gilroy or any other kid. This coach has thumbed his nose at school administration from the start. Came back to bite i guess.

The coach deserved what he got. Right, wrong or indifferent. All you big mouths on this forum know nothing about working for someone. If he didn't follow the rules than a suspension is in order. THATS REAL LIFE! DEAL WITH IT AND KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT! He would have been fired where I work!

That is not true. I was at the game and listened to JP Gilroys drunken mother whine and complain and boo the coach. After the game Vin Gilroy was yelling at the A.D. and Mr Kane right in front everybody "Abraham will pay for this". No wonder JP's mother is a fall down drunk, having to live with that guy

Actually a youth wasted chasing balls around to please grown men is what typically comes back to bite them in the form of a nowhere career. This is part of the dumbing down of America. Teaching little boys to argue and act like retards is a recipe for future failure, as is evidenced anytime you see underachievers in the world.
Is it any wonder the most dumbed down, poorest areas in the US have laughably obsessive "sports teams" that suck up all the air in anyone's education? Not like the NY schools really educate kids that well but just saying. These people usually end up a "coach" a fire dispatcher or otherwise lowly public servants all you have to do is look around, and listen to the lunatic parents vicariously living through their kid's so-called "sports career"! What a dream lmao!

It's very admirable of the boys to go to ROTC training and not bail out .

Byron was told not to bench those kids. He was told by his boss and his boss's boss. And he did it anyway. It wasn't his call to make, but he tried to act like a big shot. Bottom line it was insubordination and he deserves what he gets. You can't bench kids for participating in an ACADEMIC program. Football is a hobby, it's extracurricular. It does not take precedence over academics. Ever. Period. That's kind of the point of going to school. No one gets graded on football. The idea is to get an education.

Good for coach Abraham. He stood up for what was right, despite what he was told to do. Hats off to him.
