Each of you give me 1 really good reason why someone should stay in Utica and raise a family. And please don't say food.
I think you're going to be hard pressed to give an intelligent answer.

If politician told the truth, then no one would elect them. Let's face it, there is NO way to bring about change to our area. It's NO secret. The ONLY way it could happen, would be for the citizens to revolt and march on Albany. That would require a united effort across all of Upstate NY. I don't see any politicians calling for this on the horizon. The first politician who does, will have my vote. Economic growth and positive change WILL NEVER happen in CNY. It's a fallacy. Accept it. It has to happen at the state level first. Afterall, isn't that the deafualt answer we are always given mid-term?

Now you're on to something Culver Ave. Mark my words, history will repeat itself as it did in 1776 when anly a small minority of colonist took radical action and made radical change in the course of history. They united together in action and principle to shake off the chains that bound them. It will be no different today. Our so called political leaders have left us no other option. Civil discourse is not effective, they just don't care. It will take radical revolutionary action to enact radical change.

Unfortunately, most Americans today are sheep, being led instead of leading. If the people in Utica really want change then the like minded must come together and take it back...Civil Disobedience is the only way.

Do you people sit around and complain about everything or are you going to try to make our city better? It's easy to sit and type on the computer. Again, what have you both done in the past 12 months to help out?

This medium is a good way to get the message out. Don't make the mistake of assuming that we just sit around. I do things that most guys don't have the balls to do. What about you?

Funny how we've gone 180 degrees...Who cares what they think. I love America and I love my country. I HATE corrupt politicians. Does this make me an enemy of the state?

If we can get enough signatures within 30 days we can unelect the mayor. we need a total of 20% of the amount of people who voted in the last governors race from here to accomplish this.
It must be done in 30 days according to the city charter.

The best chance is it elect new people. If someone was part of the old system, throw them out. Get people who havent been involved with our government. It's not a perfect plan, but you cant get change with the same people. Elections are coming up again. Lets do something about it. I know I will be having a "Sending out the clowns" Party

It's great to want to "throw the bums out" but who is there to elect? I maintain that we cannot wait for someone else to come along, the people that care are on these forums. We have to stand up and run, we need to put ourselves out there to be the leaders. The revolution starts not by marching on city hall, but by being elected to it. Who among US is willing to throw our hat into the ring?

Got to wait until after the new year or everything gets lost in the hoopla over the presidential elections. However, next year the council and Comptroller are up. Don't let Wojnas, Phillips, Meola ( who cannot get his seat back from aunt Joan) and the rest play musical chairs. So many will have to run for at large there will be a blooddbath for the three seats.
