nobody after him could shine his shoes..He was a little nutty, but the best..he sure did NOT line his pockets..If something needed to get done, rest assured, he was at the ready, always. God bless his soul.

Hanna was the best. He had more leadership in his little pinky than our idiot mayor now will ever have. He didn't work for money but love of Utica where this mayor works for himself to get rich and steal from taxpayers.

Ed Hanna hands down. He was a little unconventional but you can't deny his love for the City.

Roefaro was not only lazy. He was surrounded by the most crooked corrupt people in Utica. The man was an absolute disgrace and Utica may never recover from having him as Mayor.

Rob Palmieri has the chance to be the best Mayor ever if he keeps going the way he is going.

No question, Ed Hanna. He was a little wacky, but his heart was for the betterment of Utica. No one can top that, no matter who they are.

You are correctomundo about Roefaro, BUT dead wrong on your buddy, Palmieri. You msut be smokin some BAD stuff~~~~~~~~~~If Palmieri were REALLY doing the right stuff, he would get after His CODES people to go after people who are violating codes, or better yet, stop talking 'fork tongue' and do the job himself. PHEW!

Dominick Assaro - hands down!

Polished, and a true visionary for Utica - understood the value of business within the city limits and the impact on the local economy. Knew the value of the Utica Water Board and it's economic worth to our community (which was later sold away for virtually nothing to meet short financial crisis needs - this short sighted ness (LaPolla) cost the city much needed revenues today)

Assaro was brilliant. Read his writings and his visionary plan for Utica from the late 60s - he was 30 years ahead of his time.

A man of integrity who understood business and did not cave to the political machine - hence his short political career. He should surely be counted among the best of Utica Mayors in the past 50 years. All that said - he (like Pawlinga), was a statesman and a gentleman!

Ditto, if he was mayor in this day and age look out. He was fair, and nobody would dare have pig stags for houses. At least not on the outside. Honorable and a promise was a promise.
