the utica od article was at no fault whatsoever. its journalism. when youre reading an article like that, and hear his name, the first question the reader will ask is "who is clayton whittemore?" theyre not celebrating his achievements at all. also its a way to show that anybody, from anywhere, from any background is capable of such a thing. everyone is so quick to judge. i graduated with clayton and honestly nothing about him alarmed me or made me think he would be capable of this. he was a funny kid and did very well in school

What I heard from NH residents is that Alex and Clayton had been fighting on and off and he was abusive. Clayton was at a bar with two friends and Alex was in her room, they were arguing over texts and Alex's parents were in Vegas (which is why the name hasn't been released, no one identified the body yet) and Alex texted her mom and said they were fighting again.
Clayton eventually left his buds at the bar went to her room grabbed an iron knocked the roommate out and beat Alex to death. I'll skip the details I heard about that.
Not sure what's true and what isn't because I'm not sure how anyone except him would know what really happened.

Thats why her mom called Brockport Security. She knew he was abusive and that they were fighting and she couldnt get a hold of her.

[Domestic Violence]

I do not know this young woman or her family but my heart goes out to them in this time. I also feel that as a parent if my child ever committed murder I would also be tormented and in pain. They lost their son as well to another level of hell. This is a very evil young man that cut short the life of a beautiful young woman. Domestic violence is tragic and needs to end. It has been an issue since the beginning of time. Men that beat women are not men but bastardized false beings whose blood runs cold and dark. My thoughts to everyone in pain tonight from this tragedy and to our communities that have a long road to heal from this deep wound.

This haunts me.... I listened to the fire dispatchers dispatch the call, I have a radio in my room, I had just been in brockport 10 minutes prior. I heard this, as I am a student, and broke down crying. Not knowing the victim, I cried myself to sleep, knowing the outcome shortly before 3 this morning. Prayers go out to the young girl that had a bright future ahead of her, prayers to her family who have lost a beautiful child, prayers to the family of Clayton during these horrific years ahead of them when their son sits in prison, hopefully until he rots. I have no respect for someone that could do such awful things, I could careless About his history. I could careless that possibly alcohol was involved. I go to SUNY brockport and my only concern is for her classmates, every single person in the community, and his her family.

I've heard pretty similar things. Also that apparently he was very possessive over her, but cheated on her. She was breaking up with him for it, but he wouldn't take it and he went to her dorm.
